Bayern Munich (Friendly) | Post Match Thread

will he be playing with the u18's this season as well?
It’s possible he’s moved up to the EDS and also trains with the first team. However, it may be too early for him to have cameo appearances in matches like Carabao but it seems like he’s on Pep’s radar at least.

I don’t see why he couldn’t feature in Carabao games after seeing that tbh. We certainly won’t be facing Munich.

Entertaining little game

You can really take what you want from friendlies but I noticed when Haaland went off that the Bayern defence seemed to have a second longer to breathe and compose themselves in the game, which is all good sides need to be more solid. His presence, ability and speed really had them on edge in the first half. Looks a nightmare to play against even if he’s not heavily involved in possession.

Grealish looks really sharp too. Much more direct and trying to make things happen, that’s exactly what he needs to do to utilise his ability. Last season he spend most of the time just cutting inside and playing a short ball to keep possession, any good player can do that all day, but very few can do what Grealish can do when he plays to make things happen. Hope he keeps that up, who cares if you lose the ball now and again?

Watching Kevin behind a proper striker looks like it’s going to be incredible too. Plus Grealish looked to be on the same wavelength.

You are perhaps the person the furthest from the Etihad who has a Season ticket.
Who called you a "plastic" ?
I will banjo them at Filbert Street next week.
I can certainly vouch for Chicago , a more dyed in the wool blue you could ever meet . His old man played for City , his grandma lived at the back of Platt lane, he even took me to my first game , beat Newcastle 4 -0 if I remember rightfully for which I’m eternally grateful . He maybe more Yank than Manc now but the fella bleeds blue

. . . . . . . His presence, ability and speed really had them on edge in the first half. Looks a nightmare to play against . . . . . .
There are few PL CBs who would be able to concentrate for the entire ninety minutes and keep an eye on him. How long to score a goal? Just a second, and that provides a game with 5400 opportunities. Too much for Virgil, methinks!
