So, my question would be:

In what world (and for what possible reason) would you bring back long-injured Silva for THIS GAME (let's face it - prestige only), with Arsenal awaiting....??

Can someone enlighten me about the thought process here, cause I think that is dumb as sh*t...but it might be just me.

I'd guess they want Silva to have some sort of run out before the Arsenal game, having been out for so long. If he breaks down in this game, chances are he may have broken down in the Arsenal game anyway, so it'd be better to know ahead of time. However, if he comes through okay, I wouldn't expect him to play more than 60 minutes today. I'm sure Pelle wants him fit and ready for Saturday - even though Nasri's been good lately, he doesn't have the same positive effect on the whole team that Silva does.

Because Nasri is more important than Silva for the Arsenal match.
and silva needs some game time before arsenal, we were limited in options in midfield, so someone has to play.

Fernandinho really shouldn't be playing in this farce, it seriously brings into question why we bother paying Jack Rodwell if he can't even be relied on. Need a replacement in January or Fernandinho will just collapse

Farce? It's the CL what we have been dreaming of for years
