This XI is pretty much what I would play.

Milner was superb on Saturday, especially in the second half, when he was playing centrally; he deserves a start. And he had a great game at the Allianz last season.

Elly and Gaël are both quicker than MD and Aleks and that could be vital against a very fast Bayern side, though they will lose some of that advantage with Ribéry and possibly Robben out.

It will be fascinating to see what side MP goes with.

We've played Bayern a lot lately so no need to look up to them in any way. I'm confident we can get a result, and it'll be interesting to see Pellegrini challenging Guardiola again. Bayern misses a few of their stars, but so did Dortmund yesterday and they didn't give Arsenal an inch. Especially against Bayern we need to have a bit of what Atletico showed last year and Dortmund yesterday. They don't like being chased and hurried.

I feel we are gradually performing better and better. And not too many injury-issues for a change (there will always be a few). And I myself get close to the point I don't care who starts, other than Kompany-Yaya (in big games)-Silva-Aguero to be in it.

First game is all important so I just want us to get a result no matter what or how we achieve this. If Roma and Moscow draw it would do us no harm at all.

I'm so excited for this! I really can't see the outcome but I've got a feeling it's going to be an amazing match. Let's hope the big boys are raring to go!

Can't wait. This game should help me take my mind of taking all my wisdom teeth out.

The earlier yo take them out the better. Had mine done last month and the procedure was surprisingly bearable. Just take care not to have a dry socket and you'll be fine. However, go get them done as soon as possible and hope they don't take out too much off your jaw.

Reckon we'll go 2-2 again. Expecting Yaya to have a big one.

Zaba is suspended for arguing against the blatant pen we didn't get at the Nou Camp

Yep sorry my mistake, forgot about that. Feels good to be able to have quality like Sagna as replacement.

After now seeing who Bayern have out (particularly in the midfield) I think it's imperative that we try and dominate that area, they're significantly weakened. Last year at the Etihad Schweinsteiger and Kroos tore us a new one, glad they won't be there.

The Nasri v Navas conundrum is a difficult one but given the reasons above and Samir's ability to control & retain possession I think he should start.

As I've alluded to before a lot rests on Yaya - if he pulls his finger out and get into that groove I reckon we can jag a win.
