Bayern post match thread

bloody unlucky tonight.

felt sorry for Fern and navas as nasri did a nasri and yaya did a yaya. both flat track bullies. save them for Newcastle.

we missed Fernando big time and why no Milner?

the team that wins this chumps league for us will not contain yaya or nasri. Some people have what it takes to reach the top top level, some don't.

Did I watch a different game or what?

How the heck some people think Silva had a great game? He was anonymous for most of the game, created pretty much nothing, missed best chance of the game and let Gotze to bully him off the ball on their goal. He barely had a sniff on the ball in 2nd half.

Well OK not the end of the world but...yeah it's always a but with the CL...but there is still that feeling we could have done more. Been just a bit more positive. At some point we have to start believing that we belong in this competition and acting as if we do. We should have got something out of this game tonight and very disappointed we didn't.

Roma is going to be a barrel of fucking laughs...

Bottom line we are just not good enough yet. Just hope we don't end up in the Europa League otherwise our title defence will fall apart.
Need a big performance from the team this Sunday.

We supposed to carve open the best/2nd best team on the planet away from home?

Actually, yes. Look at how they responded to one or two moments of us pressing them. Mistakes. Look at their line, even Neville mentioned it... it was there to be passed through. But we didn't. Real Madrid would have and in fact did massacre them on the break in a situation like today's. We had no pace in attack at all. Fernandinho, who had a great game, would win the ball and set up a counter, but someone like Nasri would destroy it by stopping and letting Bayern reform their lines. Bayern were seriously understrength today, yet with all three of Silva, Navas and Nasri in the team we could create very few chances. It showed to me that we need a player that almost every top club has - someone from the Robben/Di Maria/Reus/Bale category - fast, direct, able to dribble (something Navas is missing) and most importantly with an end product to boast.
I agree, would love to see reus or neymar here.Need that direct impact player.

I'm in the "enough excuses" camp.

Hate it when they don't appear to give it a go too. Always seems that way in the Champions League

Don't get it.

Big game Sunday now

Total over reaction on here for me

We supposed to carve open the best/2nd best team on the planet away from home?

90 mins gone we get a pen (for once) and/or Serg puts that way (which he often does) and we'd all be hailing a professional European away perf

But no, a deflected shot in added time and we're a bag if shite instead. I don't get it

Have to agree

I would agree that there is some over reaction on here but that's par for the course. Yes we were a minute or 2 away from a draw but we have seen that performance before in the CL. A bit tentative. Almost afraid to take the initiative and invariably like tonight it costs us. Bayern are not firing right now and do have key personnel missing and I can't help thinking with a bit of boldness, a tad more self belief we could have secured a draw as a minimum. There is something missing in our DNA when it comes to the CL and after 3 seasons it's about time we found it. Starting with Roma.

Some of the comments on here are a joke.
We were three minutes from getting a very good result.
Get behind your team and stop fucking moaning.

ita a football forum and they were there for the taking simple as.

If Silva was awarded the penalty it could have been three point to us, then maybe we would have had a few more positives on here.

It is no wonder City play passively against established clubs, every challenge is at least a foul and has a good chance of drawing a yellow.

We dont have to win CL this year. What we need is improving tho. Both in displays and also how far we go. CL group fiasco or losing in the semfinal. Kompany miht say its the same as both are losers but I think we need a few CL semis and maybe lost CL final before we actually will win it. Thats how Bayern won it last time thats how Real won it. Before they won it they had 2-3 lost CL semis, or CL final loss. (Bayern-Chelsea)

We never even were in quarterfinals. Spurs reached that with Harry "tacticmaster" Redknapp. We can blame seeding, hard draws, everything no one will care about that.

We need to improve in CL thats the basic. Last year finally we gout of of groupstage only to get beaten by a Barca that maybe was the weakest in last 6-7 years. No wonder their manager was off instantly....

Big question is unfortunately did we reached the knockout stages last time because we didnt have rotten luck with the draw as it gave us "only" CSKA and the Czech Plzen whose squads doesnt come close even to Newcastle's maybe or because Pellegrini improved us quite much in CL compared to Mancini.

This seasons group stage will answer that as its a similar group like the first we had with Bayern, tricky Italian team and a team that is expected to be beaten home/away.

I would happily accept a CL semifinal now as that is a great improvement finally in our CL history.

Thats what we need improve in CL. It has financial reasons too, later stages of CL pays more, also more sponsor money etc.

The way Dortmund dominated the shit out of Arsenal I cant say we would have benn lot more comfortable vs Dortmund. And they missed few of their stars too. And their whole wage list is about the half of ours. Yet tactic/mentality is top notch and they have to deal with losing top class players every summer. (Gotze, Lewandowski etc.) We have the luxury of keeping everyone we want.
Its finally fucking time mostly the same group of players perform as good in CL as it should.

Also I know that we play lucid free flowing football and don't stick to a rigid formation but the 442 is shit. It was shit when United used to play it and it's still shit now. When we don't have the ball you can see us fall in to two flat banks of four. It's just shit. We don't even have players that suit the formation yet we persist with it? Surely there is a formation that wouldn't force Silva to play as an out and out striker tonight?
