BBC licence fee

Yes but that covers other channels not the BBC and even if you use online TV services like ITV hub, Sky Go etc. I suggest you watch some videos online of people who have TV's but don't watch TV live. They send none stop threatening letters and send the bully men around to "inspect" your house to make sure you can't watch live TV. They rely on bully boy tactics and harassment so you end up paying as it's easier than the harassment.

They can fuck off and my generation and generations younger find it a completely archaic concept and the sooner it is scrapped the better.

Never paid the TV licence when I was a student and watched TV occasionally (I didn't have a TV, used a PC monitor for games console).

Had the letters, they went straight in the bin.

Just don't answer any questions or respond to lettters and there is nothing for them to prosecute you with. If you try to play silly games and film them you will piss someone off and they will hold a grudge.

It’s a crap way of paying for something, better to peg it on to another way of revenue collection, but that's a separate issue.

I don't think this country would be improved at all by commercial only TV.

I'm aware and I don't care. Don't watch BBC. Barely watch terrestrial TV to start with but because I own a TV I have to pay a fucking tax or start having threatening letters and the bully men knocking on my door. The BBC won't die due to the loss of the license fee. If it results in a smaller BBC then so be it. They can start cutting the fat and spend within their means instead of having the populace fund their ridiculous spending.

Oh great - you don't like it so everyone has to suffer.....

Might have already posted this, but the amount BBC spent on IT contractors I.e. project managers developers was a joke. Worked for BBC in 2015. Fuck me they were paying 800 a day for Project managers working 10 to 4pm in white city. And they took the piss. Made me quit, morally was wrong knowing that it was funded by the general public.

Fuck BBC.

You have seen what the govt itself that wants to go after the BBC has been wasting per day on contractors working for the failing test track and trace and the amount they have given to donors to provide PPE that was unfit for purpose but the big issue is the BBC? Just to put it in proportion the Beeb raises £3.8bn via the fee - so far Dildo Hardon has burned through £38bn and rising - congratulations you have been groomed.

There’s going to be no British institutions left by the time this government loses power.

shall we have a referendum to determine how large the minority that holds that opinion is?

Just giving people a choice is enough. A real choice with no threatening of legal action or bailiffs sent to the door if you say no. I don't want people to lose the shows or radio they enjoy but equally I should get a choice to say no I don't watch or listen to that content so I shouldn't have to pay for it. It's 2022 and its time the BBC realised the way people consume and access content has changed with the internet and streaming services.

Just browsing Twitter is making me laugh watching who is tweeting defending the license fee. You have people like Deborah Meaden and Dan Walker all tweeting about protecting it. When in reality they are BBC employees just wanting to protect their overinflated salaries.

Just shows you how desperate fuckwit Johnson is
Throwing the BBC under the bus to save his own skin. What a horrible little man using the Beeb as his dead cat

Of course he is - nothing matters more to Johnson than the career of Johnson. Beeb's best move would be to announce they will be doing no more Attenborough programmes and closing Radio 3................will go down so well with his supporters
