A Spurs fan told me he reckoned their overall take from the CL was somehere in the region of £45m. Deduct £15m for the knock-out rounds and we've probably grossed something like £30m across all revenue streams.JoeMercer'sWay said:Prestwich_Blue said:Happy if we both take a deep breath, calm it down and bring it back on subject.
They would always make more than us atm as the formula for market pool distribution is skewed by previous participation but I can't quite work out how. So even if we'd got exactly the same results as them, they'd get more from the group stages than we would for the moment.
The market pool is given out at the end of the group stage so doesn't depend on how far we get in this season's competition as I understand it. So Spurs earned a total of €25m before te knock out stages prize money was added. That should be roughly what we get. Rags & Chelsea got about €38m each from the group stages and the rags got another €16m for getting to the final. So they'll be a few million down on last year plus all the ticket/commercial/merchandise revenues, which could be at least another £20m. That's probably near enough their bond interest payment for the year they've dropped.
yeah, I'm cool with just carrying on, I just made a joke about Dave and didn't appreciate your pea brain comment, which is why I brought up the other thread and so on.
Anyway I took Spurs figure as it was the lowest, Arsenal was 16m Euros, United 25mE and Chelsea 27mE, we won't get as much as them but we had some pretty high profile games, were always on SS2 or ITV1 so maybe that'll have some bearing.
End of the day we'll make a tidy profit on this season and another next season once we improve so it'll all help to FFPR, United have dropped a bollock and hurt themselves twofold, one with any repayment and the other it's £15-20m gone that they could have had on a central midfielder, and the likes of Sneijder won't come as they're in the CL and youngsters like Gotze will cost a fortune.
yeah, but that's why I said in my other post "participation bonus", "performance bonus" etc. and also said our matchday revenue would go up as would our money from sponsorship deals.
