Be early... cheap Hamburg tickets for the COMS

In a bid to get more bums on seats and the third tier open, I can reveal we were told in our stewards brief today that when tickets go on sale for the home game v Hamburg they will be initially £5 each. These will rise as the game gets closer to £10 then £15 and finally £20 each. Fair play to City to be in the last 8 of the UEFA Cup and offer tickets for a fiver, dont think too many would do that.

Hopefully fans will make the most of this offer and ensure we have a sizeable crowd cheering the blues on to glory!

Not another thread of false info is it trigger...

OJ ;)

Sounds like a great idea, wonder if Stavros is involved, hope they don't paint the stadium orange

UEFA Cup quarter final - Kids for a quid, adults for a fiver 23/03/2009 06:00

Manchester City Football Club are delighted to announce fantastic ticket prices for the forthcoming UEFA Cup quarter final second leg against Hamburg on April 16th at the City of Manchester Stadium.

In an amazing one-off sale starting this Wednesday, all adult tickets will be available for five days only at a rate of just £5. After that date, tickets will be available at a remarkably competitive £10 for a further ten days up to and including April 8th, after which admission will double to £20.

All supporters can purchase tickets from Wednesday 25th March, with Seasoncard holders seats being held until Sunday 29th March, after which they will be released.
Tickets for the Under 16s supporters for the game against Martin Jol’s tough Bundesliga outfit will be priced at only £1 for the duration of the selling period.

The move comes as a thank you to all those fans who have already dug deep to follow the team all over the continent and on home soil since the beginning of the competition last July and it is hoped that the pricing will bring about a packed stadium and even better atmosphere, as the Blues play in their first UEFA quarter final since 1979.

Executive Chairman Garry Cook told us, “These prices are our way of saying thank you to all our supporters. It’s been a long time since we were in a position to perhaps win silverware and we want to make this game accessible to all.

“We know it will be a difficult game against a quality side, but with a full house we can help Mark and the boys take a significant and important step nearer to Istanbul.

"At the same time as reducing prices we will restrict the number of tickets we send to Hamburg. They have asked for up to 6,000 but to have accepted their request would have meant displacing our own fans by denying them their normal seats and maybe would have handed Hamburg an advantage.

"People have told me how the great European nights at Maine Road – particularly against strong German opposition like Schalke and Borussia – crackled with atmosphere and were incredibly emotional occasions and I want this game to be another of those matches that lingers in the memory of a new generation for a long, long time.

"After starting in the UEFA Cup in July before the Premier League season even kicked off it would be a remarkable achievement to reach the semi-final but we know how tough this tie is going to be against top notch opposition who went away to Galatasaray and won in style, and we want Eastlands to be rocking.”

The stadium box office will be extending its opening hours on weekdays from Wednesday 25th March – Weds 8th April until 7pm. Supporters can call 0870 062 1894 (option 1, lines open seven days a week), or buy online at http://www.mcfc.co.uk/tickets from Wednesday. Tickets are also available for purchase, seven days a week at the CityStore Arndale, Manchester.

Hospitality packages are available from just £35 + VAT. Call 0870 062 4141 or visit http://www.mcfc.co.uk/hospitality for more information.
