Benefit Street on Channel 4

I volunteer in a community centre in Bolton....we get a lot of unemployed in there and it's my job to help them look for work, etc
I saw inside one of my regular's bag today and it was lined with tin foil. Before I'd watched this prog I wouldn't have a clue what it was for! Naive I know. The fact we have police coming and going using our centre as a base as well just shows how desperate people are at the moment.

I don't see how that answers anything I have written, but that is perhaps true. Owen Jones sometimes speaks sense, but you should check out his appearance on "This Week" where he got all muddled over cabinet ministers who were worth a million pounds and read it that they earned that annually, he then realised this fairly into the discussion but didn't fess up. All the while Michael Portillo sat across from him smirking at his stupidity.

People probably get pissed off with writers like OJ and Laurie Penny because they often go off on one and spout rhetoric rather than put together a decent argument. It isn't exactly a good idea to open a debate by asking somebody about their tax status is it?
