Benifit System in Britian

The benefits system in principle is a good idea and there to help people who through no fault of there own lose there job or come into difficulty..and there lies the problem..lazy ass bast@rds who actually dont want to work because they get looked after by the government etc etc..thats what pisses people off the most.

My solution..pay people in vouchers that can only be redeemed on food and clothing..not cigs and booze.Have everyone on benefits of a working age open a bank account pay directly into there the housing and other benefits. All childcare and other essentials paid in vouchers to be redeemed against goods excluding alcohol and cigs.If these people want these things then get off your f'cking lazy arses and get a job and pay for them yourselves!!

Extremely expensive to administer. You'd need yet another department set up to run it and it is very easily subverted.
You obviously didn't go to school in the era of dinner tickets.
There was a flourishing black market in selling these.

The hard part is 'weeding' these people out , and they'll only do that by offering jobs to all those who genuinely DO want to work , or by making jobs easier to come by .... but there has to be enough jobs , and at the moment there are nowhere near enough ..... government know it , job centres know it , and so do employers ........ the window of opportunity just isn't there for a lot of people.

Get people in work who actually want to be there , and the loafers will stand out a mile !

maybe instead of vouchers all housing/utilities/council tax etc gets paid direct debit and the rest is vouchers or a cash card preloaded with a fixed amount per week that can not be spent on fags or booze

I applied for the same job with my Sister in Law.

I have previous experience in the role, decent quals and so on.
she left school with nothing, didn't bother going to college either.

I received an auto response email thanking me for my application but they felt I wasn't suited for the post.

They employed her straight away.

I wasn't even given an interview opportunity, she was.

if you met her you'd question the human race.
Wouldn't harm a fly, but she is very dippy and has little life skills. quite immature.

Yet they gave her this job?

The employment system is messed up.

I spend years working, gaining skills and experience, building this Cv only to be punished because of

As said in my previous post, we as a country should be producing our own goods, fuck importation and start exporting... like we used to be known for.
So who in the UK is going to work for 10p an hour then?

If you're overqualified just remove the big things from your CV. They'll just think you're eager compared to the muppets they normally employ.

You could always get a career development loan for the £15k

uniformed garbage.

You can get a maximum of £10K on a career development loan.
They are virtually impossible to get at the moment. Barclays and the Coop, the only banks that do them, use any excuse to deny the loan.

Imo nothing in life is for free, even if some cant find work they should somehow contribute to the community instead of watching jeremy kyle and sitting on their pot smoking ass....

My sister is on benefits and helped out part time in British Heart Foundation shop, she was told to stop or they would stop her some of her benefit as she wasn't available for work during these hours, she tried to explain she was getting experience dealing with customers and money, banking the takings, opening and closing the shop but dole didn't want to know

your sister has been screwed over by some jobsworth at the jobcentre.
She is entitled to volunteer a many hours a week and still get JSA as long as she is still actively seeking work and is available at 48 hours notice for an interview. The dickheads at the job centre even have their own briefing sheet clarifying this but most of the desk jockeys can barely read themselves. Tell her to make a formal appeal. It will be reversed I guarantee it.
In fact here's their own guidance notes about exactly that

Cheers mate, she still does a few hours but doesn't say, she looked after our mum for 15 years so has no work experience apart from carer until she passed away and working in shop really good experience for her

All rent should be paid direct to landlords and utilities paid direct to the companies. I agree with that.

It's a catch 22 because the government makes a fortune on taxing cigs and alcohol, but yeah...giving people cash money for nowt is wrong imo. Vouchers for food and bills is all they should get.

In eastern europe they don't have a welfare system in many countries. If you don't work, you don't eat. If that suddenly happened overhere, it would be startling the amount of people who suddenly got off their arses. The people on that programme last night were not complaining about the lack of work, it was their expectations of pay that were the problem. Most said that they were financially better off staying at home and taking the handouts. This is what's wrong with the system, people who are fit to work should not be allowed to choose.

Never not worked all my life, worked in fish n chip shop, co-op, worked as a post room boy now have a stable job in office ... yet, ive got absolutely no chance of getting a mortgage with most deposits required are over 20k around where i live.

my girlfreind, had a baby - and can apply for a house...

my best hope of moving out is either rent or move in a council place

how can that be fair

Someone earlier hit the nail on the head. There are jobs out there and those who dont need a high paid job to pay the bills and keep the mortgage going should start at the bottom and work your way up.The apprenticeship sheme is a cracking idea for those willing to push a younger person.Id even go as far as taking those at school who clearly arn`t gonna make college or uni to start a trade early...get them out of school young and get them doing apprenticeships. I would replace all these OTT subjects excluding maths and english and replace them with basic plumbing/electric/engineering and building etc etc.Employ a load of ex/retired workmen to teach them these skills alongside basic maths and english then when there ready for work they have a trade or the beginnings of one.Its about time this country dragged itself out of the service industry its become back to the industrial power house we once were. This way you take a load of kids into work and take older long term unemployed skilled people off benefits and into work. The amount of money saved would pay for a new dept to administer a voucher scheme(coupled with an id card scheme for the unemployed to prevent fraud). It would also be a massive vote winner for any party and give this country some self respect back!
