Benifit System in Britian

Hate the benefit soft arse handout system the UK has.. got pissed off giving my 20 or 30% tax each month (cant even remember how much), to these scrounging work shy free loaders. Got nothing against the people who it genuinely helps and need it, but I knew far to many people who just sat on there arse, popped out another couple of kiddies and watched the cheque's get bigger..

So much so i decided to move abroad and look after myself on tax free wages.. happy days..

It's so easy with a little bit of will power. You start off on the bottom rung and work your way up. Then take it as far as you want.

i.e. Join Tesco as an 18k pa handyman, go on one of their college schemes where you can become qualified in a trade while also earning a wage. Become a qualified electrician>>>>Wages go up to 26k pa. After a few years of on the job experience become self employed >>>> earn 50k pa. A few years later go to the bank and take a loan out to start your own business, employ a gang of electricians >>>> Earn 200k pa.

This pretty much applies to any job in the world. If you don't get off your arse, you'll never know.[/quote]
very interesting,it sounds like it could work here on planet earth.FFS

Interesting programme on tely tonight .realise there has been many debates about it & it can be an imotive issue .but i cant get my head round the fact that we pay up to & probably more than £400 pound per week to people for housing benifits alone .

Should be enough for you to learn the correct usage of the language I would imagine!

Didn't see the programme, but i'm 41 years old, worked every day of my life till i was 37, got laid off but taken back on, i'd been with that firm since day 1, but as an Irish firm, i kid u not there were 10 men laid off and 9 of them were english(the 1 irish guy guy laid off was 68 years old) I went back for a couple of weeks but couldn't stomache. went self employed worked 4/10 weeks, but now and again no work for a few monthes, U try and tell the social u r self employed but no work, they think u r some kind of millionare driving around in a roller because ur self employed(they wont give u anything)! they dont realise ur just trying to do ur best, dont want to claim anything, but when u do try, they fuck u off because "u've earned too much"! How can i have earned too much when i have'nt earned a penny in up to 3 months at a time( i have 4 kids for fuck sake)

That only works if you have a shitload of people sat on their sofas watching Jeremy Kyle. If they all went out to get a job there would be a massive employment shortage.

(Yes I am using a very broad brush to explain)

I'm happy to pay a bit towards the welfare system if it keeps me in a job.

-- Fri Oct 28, 2011 1:07 pm --

Not sure if this still applies nowadays but if your kids are in danger of being in poverty because you don't have enough earnings they HAVE to provide you with benefits for their well being.

I wish I could tell you which law / act this relates to

If you think that all it takes is to get off your arse and have a little bit of will power you're an idiot.

I've been on JSE for the past few weeks since I graduated with a law degree from a top Uni and there is absolutely fuck all going for work. Do you think I should go and get on another education scheme aswel? I can guarantee that there will be just as few jobs when I get out of the course.

The system is an absolute mess to be fair, the advice I've got at the job office has been ridiculous, the worst part is getting told you're 'overqualified' for a job in asda or somewhere like that. Personally I couldn't give a crap what I'm doing as long as I get off benefits I'm not going to woman about a job like that but apparently I shouldn't apply according to the job office. I also got paid a months worth of payments without having to even visit the job office once, which is ridiculous I could have been sat on my arse for the last month doing sod all and still getting paid. Even when they ask for proof that you have been searching for jobs you don't need to give anything substantial its easy to see how people can sit on the dole week in week out and get complacent with it( and I know that isn't everyone) The system is a mess!

PS any jobs going give me a shout ;)

Not qualified as a solicitor, just got a law degree. Costs £15k if I want to do training as a solicitor, which is what I need a job to save for.

I have been applying for loads of secretary etc legal jobs but the catch 22 is that the majority of the require experience for at least a year doing that sort of work already. If I can't get a job at one of those places I can't get experience, and I cant get a job there because I don't have experience.

The industrial Britain as many knew it is no more, we don't hardly produce anything.

when I look at old video footage from the 60's which isn't to far back I see thriving communities, many job opportunities at the forefront and a chance to progress.

Now in my generation I see alot of social depravity.

This is no coincidence.

if there was work, people Would work.

I had to go self-employed to work, and I earn fuck all.
I have the degree, the experience, the nice CV and so on... I can't get a job.

I don't blame people for the benefits system, I blame the private sector for the mass exodus of industry which has been outsourced all around the world in effort to cut wage costs.

Greed!

A big limit on the import of goods, a big limit on companies who operate over here outsourcing their workforce abroad and you'll see more job opportunities created.

I had a job in I.T Support, this was outsourced to India.

I have said the same mate, everyone is like "what have we done to deserve this"...

Well we have chosen to be suits in an office dealing in info as opposed to tangible products that are needed.
Strange how we outsourced to India and China and they are 2 of the fastest growing economies on earth.

If you're overqualified just remove the big things from your CV. They'll just think you're eager compared to the muppets they normally employ.

You could always get a career development loan for the £15k
