Now you’re opening up a different discussion.

Whatever you think of anyone else, Delph has been poor and is not the answer for LB next season during Mendy’s likely injury breaks.
Never said he hadn't been poor or that he he should be LB next season, simply asking the poster why he thought he knew what he has evidently been out of favour, before you lunged in again :)

If Mendy can get fit and stay fit he is a huge asset. His end product is fantastic and he is big and powerful and has useful height defensively. Not the best defender but has time to improve considering how young he still is. We have had a moan about Sterling, Stones and Jesus over the last few seasons but they are evidence that we can't take a short term view on any player.

Give him a chance to get fit. He clearly had a reaction after the Newport game and Pep is managing him carefully. Games are still coming thick and fast and the pressure hots up even more. Better to slowly integrate him than risk another major injury. He might be a flop due to injuries but you can't blame him for them.

When he has played he has been a big asset going forwards.

Laporte is our best left back with him unavailable though. But he also happens to be our best centre back too. Danilo would be my next choice. Which is a shame because he should be in at RB ahead of Walker on recent form.

Well since the red, we’ve played Laporte there, Danilo there, Zinchenko there and played a strange back 4/3 and not Delph. So it’s fairly obvious he’s out of favour when compared with last season.

As for me lunging in, if you want just one person to answer, send a pm to them.

True, but I think you could start an argument with your shadow and jump in as you feel as opportunity arises, so will leave you now to find an adversary

Mendy has been a terrible buy. Don't think he'll ever be dependable. Why was he brought on in that FA cup game? (he looked like he was running with a limp). We need to address this position in the summer. If Kompany gets fit then a back 4 of Walker/Danilo Kompany Stones Laporte as often as possible.

Absolutely disagree. He’s played Sterling there along with Silva and even KDB. No one worth their salt would come in and sit in the stand (as they wouldn’t make the bench) behind those two.

Just my suspicion of course, I think Pep still craves a goalscorer

Absolutely gutted about what has happened with mendy and his injuries. Unfortunately when you look at his injury record before signing for city it’s hardly a surprise. We can’t sell mendy in the summer, nobody would buy him. But we certainly should buy a first choice LB.
