Because there is no chance80/1 on Sky and Bet365 for PFA player of the season. Crazy price.

His position works against him but if Pep dabbles with the 3 at the back fairly often then Mendy essentially plays as a left winger in those games.
Traditional defenders and full backs rarely win this award (Terry did, and Bale who was more left winger did a couple of times), but Mendy is so much better going forward and has already put in 2 eye catching performances. Maintain this general level over a season and he'll be there or thereabouts.
Tough gig and strong competition but 80/1 is a cracking price.

I was thinking about that game too. Salah did exploit the space behind him, but I think Laporte is much better suited to coming out and covering that channel than Otamendi is.
I wonder if Walker would go into the back 3 or replace Bernardo. Stones wasn't great defending on the right, and Walker's pace is a massive asset vs. Mané. Plus if you keep Bernardo you can overload midfield.
Otamendi was all over the shop that day & it was early days too. The whole lot is a better unit these days, whoever plays.
Nothing Liverpool did last night suggests they will cope any better with Mendy or Aguero/Jesus.

Apparently it is Baines with 9 in the 2014/15 season.Does anyone know the record number of assists in a PL season for a defender?
Can't confirm it but can't imagine there's been a better season from a fullback in that regard; taking set pieces helps.
