Leighton Baines has the most assists for a defender in PL history with 50 assists. Can`t find any info about a single season

That so did not answer the question :p

Apparently it is Baines with 9 in the 2014/15 season.

Can't confirm it but can't imagine there's been a better season from a fullback in that regard; taking set pieces helps.

I looked at each season on the PL website.

17/18 - 7 Cresswell.
16/17 - 5 Walker/Trippier/Smith
15/16 - 5 Bellerin/Daniels
14/15 - 9 Baines
13/14 - 7 Kolarov
12/13 - 5 Baines/Coleman/Evra
11/12 - 6 Cole
10/11 - 11 Baines
09/10 - 8 Baines
08/09 - 6 Baines
07/08 - 8 Shorey
06/07 - 5 McCulloch/Neil/Shorey
05/06 - 5 Asier Del Horno/Aaron Hughes
04/05 - 7 Riise
03/04 - 5 Sun Jihai/Kennedy/Naismith
02/03 - 6 Silvestre
01/02 - 9 Mark Venus
00/01 - 6 Harte/Telfer
99/00 - 6 Matteo/Ziegler
98/99 - 7 Ian Harte
97/98 - 8 Gary Kelly
96/97 - 9 Andy Hinchcliffe!
95/96 - 8 Dan Petrescu
-- 22 teams --
94/95 - 11 Andy Hinchcliffe
93/94 - 8 Le Saux
92/93 - 8 Steve Staunton

Mendy could beat that by Christmas if we play 352 enough.

Aside from his incredible crossing ability, the lad is an absolute tank. Pep is definitely going to get creative with him in the side, it's like teams have to worry so much about our forwards and midfielders how do you also devise a game plan that takes care of Mendy?

Exactly, must be a nightmare to defend against us.

Mendy will prove to be critical against the parked buses. Mahrez as well when he settles.

Yet it is not just his use of social media that needs to change. Mendy was fined for turning up late to training in the run-up to the season opener at Arsenal, and that was far from the first time he has been the last one to join a session or a tactical meeting.

Perhaps more tellingly, Guardiola has seen fit to make the Frenchman move out of his city centre apartment and into a place on the outskirts of Manchester.

There are concerns at City that Mendy and his close group of friends find it particularly easy to get into trouble, so steps have been taken to limit the number of off-field distractions available to them.

There have been incidents that have raised concerns in the recent past, although none that have been deemed serious enough for Guardiola to drop Mendy from his matchday XI.

Something to keep an eye on maybe. Hopefully he's just getting back in the swing of being a professional footballer after a year out. We also heard that Pep was going to be stricter and more of a disciplinarian this season to make sure the standards set last year don't drop.

Getting fined a week's wages and being forced to move doesn't sound great?

Guess not, although it sounds more like pep putting his foot down early on, rather than a genuine problem. Gutter press would be on it like a tramp on chips if he was a troublemaker

I would guess the club believe that Mendy's occasional unprofessionalism stems more from immaturity than a major attitude issue.

I'm basing that off the fact he has an admittedly charming puerile demeanour behind the scenes, but also seems to take a positive and somewhat serious approach to the actual football side of things, at least when he's physically on the pitch (and thus, having arrived). What I'm really trying to say is, there's no indication that he's a 'bad egg'

The positive of all this, is that if there's ever a dressing room of players that can help whip a player into shape it's our current one. We have some serious winners and mature professionals in our squad right now. Plus, we know how much of a positive effect Mendy has on everyone in there too. So if there ever is a problem, you could count on them doing what it takes to support him.

All in all, I'm not concerned about this.

Sounds like he is a lot more like Balotelli than already suspected!
