Thought he did ok. Looked a bit rusty but that's to be expected after a few games out. Short passing was a but problematic but I'm sure he'll progress well in that regard.
Not buying any of that, cos we boss nearly every game we play in regardless of who plays. Mendy gave the ball away cheaply by playing it infield straight to Liverpool players several times yesterday, leading to potentially dangerous counterattacks, and he did the same thing against both Arsenal and Wolves, where Traore had him on toast. Yesterday was probably his most solid defensive display, but from an attacking standpoint give me Leroy any day of the week, and particularly when the opposition is sitting deep and the space to charge forward and whip crosses in is limited
I hope so but I can see why Pep is reluctant to risk playing both against a team like Liverpool who pose a much bigger threat than most PL sides. The downside yesterday was playing Sterling on the left where he is far less effective and he's probably been our most influential attacker so far this season.Mendy and Sane with Pep's help will find a way to play together, two fantastic players.
Think he played on the right on his debut, as sub at old trafford and did ok,causing quite a few problems ..Sane is still very one footed. I’d love for us to try playing him on the right if Pep doesn’t want him and Mendy in same side
Just caught that podcast with @twosips and Sam Lee and they basically reiterated what I’ve been saying. He’s untouchable. His skill set is perfect for us and he offers everything.
Well... not as much as you'd think. If he doesn't get his act together his future could genuinely be at risk. But in terms of ability...yeah. They seemingly love what his potential brings
