Benjamin Mendy - 2018/19 Performances

He is in serious danger of being frozen out by Pep. Players with his ego have had Pep's wrath before. He is the biggest showboater and uses social media to play the joker and give others stick. That is fine if you are Messi or Ronaldo. He played fuck all for us last season so can claim barely any credit for the 100pts. He played fuck all for France so again can claim very little credit for the WC win. Pep is about performances on the pitch not off them. Mendy needs Kompany or De Bruyne to teach him the value of modesty. If he doesn't learn quickly he never will.

Is he even actually injured? Or is Pep punishing him for his behaviour and using the injury as a screen to protect him from media bashing? I wouldn't imagine he would have been at the boxing in a 70s pimp suit if he was under fire from Pep.

An excellent player with potential to be the best left back in world football but currently lacking defensively by some margin.
 
From one of the most loveable guys on here to one of the most hated. How fast everything changes in life.

Nah he got injured and he's 'flashy'. No different to the bollocks the Sun gets up to slating Sterling tbh...and its from our own fans now. Unbelievable.

What? Did I miss something? So what he wore a 70s suit or went to a boxing match. What's all the whaling about?

I'd be lying if I wasn't slightly worried about the Driving ban and being told to move house, or Pep making a point that he needs to get off his phone, but when you come in here and see people attacking him for the way he dresses, his hair cut, going to the boxing in his time off...it's bizarre.

So is the fact that looking a bit dodgy defensively after basically 12 months out has turned into him being a bad player or having played badly, when he was incredible in the first few games overall.

Not really. He has a lot to prove yet. His near season long injury was self inflicted one of the most ridoculous challanges ever seen in the Ethiad or Maine road. His positioning in defence is pathetic. Ask Richard Dunne if you don't believe me. Some of his online
activity is jouvenile at best. Don't expect he
will be
around mucj longer.3
