Slowly but surely getting back to his top level.

Bloody hell, I hope to God we haven't seen his top level yet. He's been dog shite bar 3 or 4 decent games.

He makes Kolarov look like Roberto Carlos

I wouldn't judge him at the moment, pretty much everyone who plays in our defence this season has looked shit

We haven't had a settled defence all season, so it is difficult to judge them.

Must know what you were impressed with. The first goal came after he lost the ball. Lots of inaccurate passing, defensively was average eand hardly helped the attack. I'm worried about his performances

If you're going to say the first goal conceded came from his errant pass, then you have to say that the second goal we scored came from his headed clearance. You also have to say that our 4th and 5th goals started with him breaking the lines with a pass into midfield.

So he's 3-1 for goal contributions, that's alright.

People are forgetting that when we signed him he was a young player with a lot of potential, but also a lot to learn. Two years on, he's not had chance to learn much sitting injured on the sidelines. Give him time.

I certainly think there has been a rush to judge him, from the off, and we should know by now that it can take time to get fully acclimatised to the requirements of playing for City.

Last night I don't think either full back was helped by the starting formation or their lack of familiarity with their opponent.

I want to see how Mendy is after he has had an extended period of staying fit and playing regularly.

He definitely needs a sustained run in the team and to stay fit. Nobody is going to impress when only playing in fits and starts.
To be successful in this team takes a little getting used to as many others before him have proven.
My point is though, he’s a top quality player who if renains injury free will go on to prove a few doubters wrong.
