downside is we'll be half the attacking force without him, the sweeping all before us annihilations were nice whilst they lasted

usual fare of promising start, no end product

I seem to remember us scoring 5 goals without him on Saturday...

I'm not sure we'll be half the team mate. Its terrible for us if it is a bad injury, but we still have options. Fingers crossed its just a month or so.

The 125 mill on full backs in the summer was meant to have sorted us out for years in those areas. If Mendy's done his ligaments then we've got no left back.

Can we buy Clichy back?

When I snapped my ACL training on a bobbly, shite sunday league pitch I carried on with the match for a bit, tried to run it off, went for a sit down, went to the pub, went for a curry, went to a dodgy late night bar for some rubbish dancing and walked a couple of miles home at 3am.

I think him walking off the pitch is no indication of the severity of the injury...

That is very true

Only in a Guardiola team can you be more gutted about a fullbacks injury from an attacking, not defending point of view! Defensively there won't be much difference and we have so many weapons at the other end - just trying to be positive.

Yes, it was a silly tackle, yes Jacob is a twat but unfortunately that is the nature of the likes of Mendy, Gundogan and Kompany, an injury is never too far away.

From Sky Sports

"It is understood it is now standard procedure for Manchester City to have injuries assessed in Catalonia."

This makes me a little more relaxed about things it could be just a check up

Indeed, they must have seen something: it's not like they have antiquated scanning equipment in Manchester.

Hugely frustrating if this proves to be a long-term injury. We had a good view of the incident and it looked a pretty innocuous impact but knees are tricky. Hoping the damage, whatever it is, proves to be minor and they have sent him for a second opinion more as a precaution.

What frustrates is that it was a ridiculous and unnecessary challenge all of his own making!

As @domalino pointed out I think a lot of people are over worrying about Danilo at left back, he's an accomplished player and he'll be absolutely fine at left back.
The real issue will be is if another full back gets injured forcing Delph to play against good opposition
Can only judge from what I saw close up on Saturday and to me he looks far better on the right then on the left where I thought he looked uncomfortable.
Looks like a 6-10 week injury at least if he is off to Barcelona so this may have serious implications for us. Thankfully there are a couple of international breaks and hopefully he can get back for the busy November/December schedule.
