I've sympathy with Ben. He suffered a career threatening injury and was never the same player again. Not his fault.

He was always a marauder rather than an overt defender that's why Pep bought him.

From all reports,he's presented himself with dignity and respect in court and is unlikely to get any compensation for the time spent in prison and loss of wages for 2 years.

I hope he makes a success of the rest of his life !!

All I know is these cases are often incredibly difficult to prove and often don't lead to convictions as a result.

But being found not guilty isn't the same as being proven innocent. It's a really complex issue.

As far as his career, he was apparently on £90,000 a week. I dont think he's had to shop through the reduced section at Lidl to survive.

Probably not over and quite possibly if he plays his cards right he’ll go on to earn more money over the rest of his football career than 90% of people on here will earn over the rest of their lives. Good luck to him
