Would be an absolute meltdown and with a small amount of justification if we missed out on Mendy as well as Alves and seemingly Sanchez,

I suspect that the club has realized what is actually happening. The squad is in severe danger of being dismembered piece by piece and everyone from Prince Albert of Monaco, the directors, fans can see that some of these players cannot be sold.

I reckon they have raised the drawbridge on the basis that only three players will be about to leave. Mendy may well be staying put.

Kongolo has already been signed. Not sure that stopping Mendy leaving is a priority , maximising the fee maybe.

Could be. If that is the case, City need to make a final offer which is realistically at, or v. close to the amount being quoted by Monaco. There is no point in drawing this out to the deadline on 2/9/17. As Conte and Mourinho have protested their dismay at the lack of progress in the market 2 weeks ago, they, and we, know it is becoming increasingly imperative to get the overwhelming bulk of your activity sorted b4 the preseason friendlies start.

Conte and Mourinho have started to move quickly in the last week and will add 2 more each in the next 10 days, tops.

I completely agree that we need to get some full backs in before we go to the States.
 
We need to get the right people in, even if it costs us that bit more. No more mangalas or bonys please. We need quality that will be in our squad for the next 10 years like vinny, yaya etc

Please stop pissing about city

This. We should never be in the position of needing 4 fullbacks and possibly a centre back in the same window. It's ludicrous really.

But Pep seems to be sorting it. Sane, Sterling, Ederson, Jesus, Gundogan, B Silva. All players in the right age bracket.

By the time he leaves I'd say it will be one or two stellar names needed per window.

Releasing all our fullbacks is risky. If we get mendy sorted then I will feel a little less agitated. If we panic and buy a load of shit at the back then it won't matter who we have up front

Sounds positive. The thing is if we get two good fullbacks in the team will be transformed. We have already sorted the Keeper. The front six it could be argued are up there with the best in the world. If we signed Carlos Alberto and Maldini we would win the lot.

Until Txiki pays what Monaco want I doubt how much Mendy wants to join us really matters
