I stand corrected, that is not a picture from today clearly given the darkness.

Seems pretty obvious that the situation is-
We have agreed terms with the player, we have agreed a fee in principle with Monaco, we have not yet agreed how exactly we're going to pay it ie the payment structure, we know no other clubs are interested at the agreed price and we are therefore taking our time to get every last concession out of Monaco we can on the payment structure, after all it has to be factored into a £300m total spend in the FFP era and the fact we weren't expecting to have to pay an extra £30m for another RB thanks to Alves.
Worst case scenario we have until at least the start of the season to get this done, or until another club enters the scene at which point we'll probably just give in to Monaco's demands and wrap it up.

Lol what? We were first interested in Ederson in the winter transfer window. De Bryune and Sterling took forever to be finished.

and add to the fact he's still recovering from injury and it may have been decided he wouldn't be fit enough to play in the US anyway so just let him rehab till the team comes back to at least Iceland, no rush.

Assuming he has any injury at all when they could've just said that since he is leaving.
