Are you comparing Benjani to Goater? The goat scored goals, Benjani was gash. We dont mind slagging Badbuy and such so why not Benjani? just because he got credited for a goal at OT? Hes gash. The Goats a legend.
 
vassell ran his socks off for city but benjani only played well against pompey and the goal against utd that gave him legendary status is a joke this player did not want to join our great club and it took days to clarify his move due to sleeping in the airport and missing flights. i have been a city fan for 35 years and have not forgot are bad days and we have had our fair few but there are far better players that put far more into our club in the past that are not treated to the applause that benjani gets. i have allways got behind any player in the blue shirt but will not miss benjani if he goes.

You are missing the point mate. Edgehill wasnt exactly a legend but stepping up to take that penalty at wembley. What if he had missed? Horlock wasn't a legend but what if he hadnt scored that goal in the last minute? Just like Benjani isn't going to be a legend but he played his part that day at the swamp when the media all over the country were waiting for us to cock it up. And like the goat every time he pulled on the shirt he put a shift in and like the goat he did it with a smile on his face. doesn't the guy deserve a bit of respect?

Horlock, Edghill, Goater all grafted every minuite of every game, Benjani was gash, why have i got to like him. The other players mentioned all wanted to play for us, benjani drove past my house twice trying to kill some time on deadline day, hes nothing like the Horlocks or Morrissons of this world.
 
When people talk the likes of Upson now, the very same arguments were used when we were linked with Benjani not so long ago.

Better than what we've got (arguable), it's not our money etc etc.

Was always a bad buy, the derby about the only good thing he did.
 
What I am saying is that people on here are so fucking rotten and snotty when thy reckon we can do better. Seriously, these players put on City shirts and played for our club and did not complain. Benjani, when called to task, played his game seriously and tried his hardest (even though he wasnt very good) in our shirt. Sure, he didnt want to come in the first place but once he did he got on with it with no complaints. Seriously, I bet my life that Gareth Barry would have chose Liverpool if it was us vs them at the contract stage. The amount of shit Vassell was given time after time, and I have more respect for that guy than most City players I've seen in my time for his tremendous workrate in OUR SHIRT. Ched Evans, a kid most were lauding up this time last year, and the shit he was given AT TWENTY YEARS OLD for not cutting it for us, yet he club get lambasted for letting a big-headed greedy moneymind like Danny Sturridge go, who never really did anything on the pitch other than take stupid shots from 30 yards out and get the odd one go in. Someone get me his shots to goal ratio.

I remember people on here praising Bianchi constantly and slating Sven for not playing him when every week he was in the papers complaining about another aspect of being at MCFC. Fuck right off
 
Sometimes you take to players unfortunately could never take to him as I thought he was shit before he even signed imo he was the one that cost sven his job. Kept standing in an offside position and just smiled every time the flag went up. He could not grasp that being constantly offside is not fucking funny when we are paying hard earned money to watch.
