Benji...

Not a Benjani fan but he did very well yesterday I thought, but his future lies elsewhere I'm afraid.

I thought he had a belting 60 mins or so, his hold up play was brilliant and he brought other into the game. Linked up well with Carlos for a lot of moves. I reckon he could do a job for us if needed.

The way Mancini used him worked really well with him holding the ball up and have others running off him. Could of had a goal if he didn't hit the post which would have made it two in two. I'm also not a Benjani fan, but credit where it's due, he played well.

just don't think he'll get near the bench, let alone the starting XI if mancini can get ade and RSC playing to their potential. i can see quite a battle between those two if they both hit top form.

Played the "Emile Heskey" role very well last night.

Yes, he didn't score when he probably should have, he was in the right place at the right time, to get the three assists, and I feel without him last night, we definalty wouldn't have scored the three goals we did when he was on the pitch, as we would have been bossed out of it in the final third.

Well done Benji, and well done Bobby for giving everyone a clean slate, and giving them a chance to impress, which on that performance, he has taken.

If he carries on with this form, it will be interesting to see if Adebayor gets back into the side when he feels he is ready to play again.

Also, before the match, I felt we were becoming a one man team, over reliant on Tevez. After that, I no longer feel the same.

Good times are here to stay :)

This.

Bobby Manc to get the most out of this potential squad player

Not a Benji fan myself, thought he did alright yesterday, nothing more. He lacks awareness & concentration, might be a lack of match fitness though - he looked fucked after that 3rd goal.

The only other time we've seen him with a strike partner was for a bit of the Spurs game when he assisted that Boji game. Think he could be a useful squad member now we're playing with two up front, Pompey fans did always say that though.

i thought he was top yesterday. did his job superbly and deserved a goal. Assisted 3 so cant complain.

I completley disagree, he was awful but just very lucky. Every assist he made was down to a mistake. 1st was a missed shot, 2nd he missed again and was lucky to hit the post and third he cut his pass to petrov too shot and was again lucky to find tevez. He had a few good moment but was noticeably the wrost player on the pitch.

On the live stream I watched last night (thanks Shady) The commentator was suggesting that maybe Bobby was playing him in these types of games during the transfer period as an advertisment to potential bidders and that he would probably off load him - makes sense as I don't think he is quite up to what we need
