Bernard

I fucking hate silly season, more so since the explosion of social media (it was bad enough around '06 - 08 with forums until it [social media] all took off properly with 'Generation-N' creating WUM agent accounts and other kinds of bullshit).

If he left Shakhtar, it would be for a loss on what they paid because of the situation there and his unhappiness. They paid £20m for him, so that price tag sounds like pure fabrication - the same can probably be said of our interest in him.

you call tell easily that this is bullshit due to restrictions, especially when we are stocked in attacking options.

Sorry guys.....google translate not great!

Today our site is pleased to present the new competition rules football predictions - "World Cup 2014. Forecasts", which is sponsored by BC Paris Match. Note ...
According to the source, Bernard was offered "Manchester City" for 40 million euros and with a high probability at the end of the World Cup will leave Ukraine and move to the Albion. In addition, the player agent has already appealed to FIFA to demand his client to terminate the contract with the Donetsk "Shakhtar" because of civil conflict occurring in the East of Ukraine.

Although the money talked about seems far fetched due to the situation in the Ukraine, not sure I'd agree that we wouldn't be interested.

We currently have Silva, Nasri, Navas, and Milner as at mid/winger types players. With the potential of Milner leaving that certainly opens up an attacking midfield slot for a player like him. I also think he's a Txiki/Pellegrini type of player.

I loved watching him come on in the Confederations Cup last year for Brazil, I thought he was a game changer in a way.

He isn't worth 40m though although I have seen nothing of him at Shakhtar.

If Tolmie is right and Milner is off then we need another winger.

What of Lopes' alleged promotion to the first team (if the MEN's information wasn't dud)? He played on the same side as Bernard for the first team and signing a 21-year-old wouldn't be good for his City future. Maybe if Milner left we'd have two spots.

We were linked last summer to Bernard so maybe our interest is still there?

Tim Vickery said he chose Ukraine because of the money.

Very good player...In the Brazilian league. Not seen much of him since his move to Donetsk. However seems very skillful with a good burst of piece, extremely lightweight in my opinion, if he could adapt definitely a star of the future. Surely would not cost us 40 million euros that would be almost all of our budget gone on a player that is not necessary, however if he came up for say 15million pound we should be in for him. We did pay 30 million for Fernandinho which shows you don't get a player on the cheap from them, but if like many people believe in this sort of thing it could have improved relations, can't see it myself though.

It's a fair point about Lopes.

I'm just speculating but the intention might well be to play more of a 433/4231 type formation more regularly next season, in which case there's certainly an argument that both Bernard and Lopes could be accommodated.

We'll see with this one. I like him as a player. He looked a little lightweight at the Confederations Cup but his talent wasn't in question. I'd go so far as to say that he looked a far better player than Lopes currently is, even taking the age difference into consideration.
