Bernard

If there is no interest I would expect city to come out and say pretty quickly and if we are I don't see us paying kore than 10 mil for him.

Much rather raise money for Di Maria than buy him. Having Di Maria and Fernando will give us 3 world class players each at 2 CM positions and 2 WM positions.

We are never going to get Di Maria though mate.

Firstly why would Madrid sell him after such a great season and at 40m we cannot afford him with most of our 50m budget going on Fernando and a central defender.

Bernard is an interesting option because he could become a free agent in the next few weeks and you would have thought that would end up leaving him as a potential bargain which would suit us perfectly.

I think if we are going to be looking at an attacking option along with Fernando and a defender then it will have to be a hidden gem or a loan.

We need a Hazard like player. Someone who is willing to take on his man and score goals from out wide. Like 10 league goals a season. I don't think Di Maria is that productive goal wise but at least he creates a lot while doing the former.

True, if indeed Madrid are willing to sell him for 40 million (why would they I don't know, he won them the Decima), we would really have to sell someone major. But I think its doable, selling all the deadwood+Garcia (Fernando incoming)+Nastasic(new CB+Rekik should cover his departure) should be enough.

You mean someone like Nasri?

Garcia isn't going anywhere this summer he has already said so.

I just don't see us playing with both Garcia and Fernando in the same game. Both are DMs, and the latter is superior. Also, we will mostly play with 2 CMs, which means Fernandinho and Yaya will start most matches and only in tough matches or for some rotation will Fernando be brought on. He will basically assume the Garcia role with more minutes. Where will that leave Garcia?

Manuel will find a way, dont worry. Many games are played during one season.

I myself was a bit surprised to see us linked bernard recently, but even more surprised to see how many people on here haven't gotten excited... Maybe not a player we NEED, but an absolutely amazing player. Definitely WC potential IMO

Nasri while having good ball control isn't that quick. And he just doesn't score as many goals as a good wide forward should.
