Sadly, i think Mahrez might have as good of a touch. Just need time to make the rest happen.

"Touch" (whatever that actually is) is only one aspect. Bernardo laps Mahrez multiple times on work ethic, unselfishness, judgment, and simply making his team-mates around him better. He is probably twice the player Mahrez is and he is going to improve further over the next 3 years.

I'll cut Mahrez some slack as it's his first season, but he has never stuck me as a real team player - and his individual skills, while good, are not at the level where he can get away with that. He will have to up his game 2 or 3 levels to be a starter in important games for us.

i don't disagree with any of that. that's why I said 'sadly,' because he has the thing you can't teach. The 'touch' yet he is nowhere near Bernado.

Fair enuf. Just was never crazy about Mahrez's signing. Character to me is critical and Mahrez downing tools at Leicester told me a lot about his.

Grand Larceny to get Bernardo for what we did.
His attitude, fitness and skills suggest to me that he’s going to be here a long time and leave as a true City great.

Before we signed him I wrote a post noting how in watching highlights of his best plays that I noticed a player who's ability to see the play early was limited. I siggsugge he'd need to improve that area grealy to succeed here.

Some Leicester fan who ''apparently knew him better coz he watched him week in week out" told me off and put me in my place. Stating categorically that my analysis was pure nonsense and vision was one of Mahrez greatest qualities.

Like I said to the guy, look if I'm watching a video of Mahrez highlights and I can spot this flaw, the notion that you watching him during not just his highlights but also his low lights disproves my point.

But once he signed, im backing him and hoping for the best. No matter how talented you are, playing with, Kev, Dave, Fern, Berny, Raz and Leroy you can always learn new things. That's my hope for Mahrez.

Not to be controversial, but in our team currently, I think he can only play the false 9 well. And if we need to rest Aguero and Gabby isn't back yet, I'll try him there. Even though he is 4th best at that position too.

Has to start today! Hopefully we are sorting a new and improved contract out for him ASAP as well!

Great shout to go down the middle with his penalty. Clearly Kepa's had has give and he s going to fling himself all over the place
