Bernardo Silva charged with misconduct by FA

Essentially she's saying the Bernardo issue is minor and it's receiving far too much attention whilst the real problems with racism in the game get swept under the carpet. I agree with her.

While I'm here, why can't people accept that the Conguitos character was created under a negative racial subtext and the Milkybar Kid wasn't?

Cos none of the naysayers are expansive thinkers.

They don't and won't understand no matter how much one explains.

That's a superb piece by Aluko and I hope the naysayers read it and understand another Black person's view on it (which is the SAME as mine) and hopefully I won't have to say another word on the issue!!

I think this is a well written article which makes some very good points. Bernardo’s punishment won’t change anything and is preventing them from seeing the bigger picture here.

Yeah a sensible idea, they know the kid,so do we,he is no racist

Yep, despite what I think about the tweet, I still don’t think there was any malice to it. Don’t know him personally but he does come across as one of the nicest players at the club.

Is it normal that they take so long to decide a punishment or are they gauging the response? I hope they don't use this as a means to say people don't want firmer action on real racism.

That's not what those protesting against this are saying, he made a mistake but an honest one that inadvertently upset some people. So maybe there should be charge of some sort but there needs to be a distinction between this and racism or it will do more harm than good to fight against real racism.

My other worry is that this delay is to allow the FA to get away with a lengthy ban after sky and the like have had a full week or more to get everybody on board with Bernardo being guilty of racism.

A pretty weak article, especially about the Everton fans unveiling a big anti racism banner. Ffs, a few fans get together, buy a flag and show it off at Goodison to make out Everton fans are showing the way. She says players wearing pre match shirts with Kick It Out was only a token gesture, well I have news for Aluko so was the Everton display. It hardly means fuck all.

Having black friends amongst the ones you socialise and work with, accepting their colour without any prejudice in how you perceive and interact with them is far more important. It’s called being mates, the ones you help, the ones that help you, sticking together when life is shit but also having a fucking great time when you can.

I wonder how many of those Everton fans have black friends and I wonder how many have racist jokes on their mobiles?

Oh, pray tell, how many mates have chuckled gloriously at being compared to your depictions of 'savages'??

None of yous answer this question even though I've put it on the board TWICE!!

You lot are profound hypocrites to accept one thing yet not have the courage to enact the same thing to your own 'mates'.

GTFOH...

He has till the 9th to reply to the charge,i think that's a standard time frame, depending on what bernie has decided to do will decide how long it takes to settle it

If the Portuguese are similar to the Spanish, especially in the campo, there culture to black people is completely different to Northern Europe. I was in my local tapas bar one night and a young black African came into the bar. He was a poorly paid migrant who was studying to be a doctor. He was fluent in Spanish and English. The owner of the bar asked him what he wanted. ¿Que quiere negro?
Neither him or any one else in the bar battered an eyelid. Fuck the Fa
