Bernardo Silva contract situation

They have no money, surely that is a massive problem when you want to sign one of the best midfield players in the world. It doesn't mean jack how big a club they are, no player will want to go there if they have to take a huge pay cut to play for them. Doesn't matter what they have done in the past.
Also as a after thought, remember Messi was asked to take a huge pay cut to continue to play for Barca. We all know what happened there.

All a question of money. Can Barca or Real get enough (from their 100% kosher revenue streams) and is there the interest to spend a lot of it (£85m +) on him.

Reading between the lines of his (respectful) statements and things that came out last year it is clear that he would be open to that move because of family and climate (which is absolutely his prerogative). But he is the type of player to understand and respect the fact that he has a minimum price tag, and won't down tools if the above scenarios do not pan out.
here we fucking go again..
''He doesn't like the weather.......'' Jeez.

Funnily enough, I have an open plan 4 bedroom house in mid Wales, with 4 acres of garden that I'm sitting in at this very minute.

We're In a bit of a micro climate here, and when it's not passing down, it's mainly warm and sunny, like today.

Thanks to the brook that runs through our land, it can get a bit 'mosiquitoish' when it's hot.

I wouldn't swap it for anything, but if I was an elite footballer, I'd be off to Spain at the first chance.
Is there trout in your brook?

If Bernardo really wants a move, I suspect that our management wouldn't turn down £60m if it was all paid upfront.

I would agree with you.

Only 120 million less than our fellow poster thinks we might turn down.

Hopefully he wants to stay with his fiancee and pooch, and we get a couple more years of this great player and lovely guy.

f365 reporting we want £80m which personally i think is undervalue still.
F365 didn’t really report that, they did quote a Mirror article that said we would put a price tag of in excess of £80 mill on him, but even that seemed a guess, because it went on to say he’d be priced out of Barcelona's reach.

He has three years left on his contract so that's giving him away.

Now if they throw in Gavi as well as that money, then that's a different conversation.

I really hope Bernie stays though.

He may want to move but he knows he only has 1 more large payday and City/ Real/ PSG are likely the only teams capable of giving him that despite the Barca propaganda machine.

They can't even pay Greizemann and had to loan him back to Athletico to save money.

I mean imagine spending 120 mil on a players transfer fee who you wanted and then more on wages but then you send him back to his ex team because the payments are too high.

That may be the worst transfer of ALL TIME.

Not around in the time of Steve Daley ?? ))

From a footballing point of view Bernie has got to be thinking that feeding the Norwegian pin point passes for him to score, has got to be better than being part of a rebuild at Barca that may take the best part of the rest of his career to come to fruition ? Who wouldn't want to be part of a team that has Haaland up front scoring for fun !!

If I had to guess, him wanting to leave is 0% football related.
