I am staggered by how much so many people are spectacularly missing the point. We are all city fans, we all love bernardo, wephemycould all do without this kind of hassle and he's done something that anyone with half a brain cell knows gives ammunition to being attacked. Whether posters are personally offended or think silva's actions or the man himself is racist simply doesn't matter as it doesn't change that point. I too think the world has gone mad. All panelists on BBC Question Time are too scared to say the n-word despite the fact that in that context (of an academic discussion) it can't possibly be racist to use it but they still don't as they know they will get a hard time afterwards. But that is the world we live in and it does our club no good for a player to not understand what will provoke a negative reaction on twitter. Moaning about the world's gone PC mad doesn't help in any way at all

No.....words of that calibre are most definately an insult,and i could see why there would be uproar.
IMO,i dont think what Bernado done is that bad.....others obviously do.

What they really mean is ‘re-education’, kind of like Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge offered its citizens.

I think the point is , would it have even caused a ripple if another person of colour had posted this about Mendy? Or is it just because its a white guy whos posted it. Thats the distinction for me. I also think you have to look at the context behind it though, but the problem is these days even if the person you intended it for thinks it funny, if someone else doesnt then thats the problem. And thats the problem with the snowflake society we live in.
Bernado is just a bit daft posting it on social media instead of whatsapp

1. As far as we know Mendy and Mbappe, two of Portuguese Bernard's mates didnt find it offensive. For all we know it's a joke between them.
2. It was a very stupid thing to do irrespective of intention.
3. For fucks sake we have a player who uses the wrong name of a japanese cartoon character even though he's Argentinan. So should we be offended by Kun Aguero - no wonder they won't give him awards, racist Argentinian.
