Rappers use it all the time, as does Tarantino in several movies. It’s offensive but it’s also used as a parody to expose the bigotry within society, I don’t think Bosnianblue has any racist intentions with that post.

Me. I have decided that I want, no need to be offended by something and as nothing else has happened today, I was at the allotment on my own, I feel I am entitled to be offended by this. If you try and stop me it will show you are bullying me, whilst I may not be that bothered by your bullying I am sure others will be. so just be vert careful with what you say to me.

Bernardo’s been a proper numpty here. There shouldn’t be an issue, it’s very clearly a light hearted jibe between friends with no racial intent at all but we live in a world now where somebody will always try and find something to be outraged by. They get given extensive media training, it would have been made very clear to them what would cause controversy and what to avoid like the plague, he’s dropped a bollock here. whether it should or shouldn’t be an issue is sadly irrelevant.

I wonder if the same amount of coverage would be given to this if it was a black player saying this to mendy?

We all know there's no racism here. City will be pissed off though - they've had enough bad publicity. In the world beyond City, they'll see this for what it isn't - not what it is.

Was he being racist when he posted it? No, as I don't think he had any malicious intent when he posted it. Was he stupid to post it? Yes, he was. Surely, he doesn't lead a life so out of touch with what's going on in the world, that he couldn't have foreseen what a shitstorm that may bring down on him. But then again, he wouldn't be the first footballer to make a cnut of himself on social media.

When was the last time a black or Asian person got done for being racist towards a white person? I'm sure some statto will throw a load of stories in the mix.
But just as a side note if a black or Asian person called me a white so and so or the milky bar kid my first thought wouldn't be throw the racist card at them, I'd probably start laughing.
In a society where its all equality and every race, colour and creed gets treated exactly the same then why are there never stories of white people getting racially abused?

Spot on, if someone called me a white piece of trash, I'd be a bit pissed off but wouldn't be screaming ' racist' 'racist' like the snowflakes are oh so quick to do nowadays.

My husband who is black has been getting more and more pissed off about this as the day has gone because he thinks that the reaction to this sets the fight against racism back.
He's pissed off with organisations like Kick it Out and the FA trying to look as they are doing something about racism by looking into trivia like this. There is plenty of real racism out there but this is what they decide needs investigating if Kick it Out is "shocked" by this then they need to get out in the real world. He believes that if they make Bernardo go on some sort of course he should tell them to do one as it is a token gesture and he would be labelling himself as a racist who has to be saved by people who know better because they are offended but have never suffered real racism themselves. In his opinion for every person having a touch of the vapours on twitter there are people who took no offence at all who decides who is right or as he so charmingly put it "Don't speak for me and tell me what I should be fucking offended by". He really is fuming.

Awhile ago I worked with a lad who was called Paddy by everyone as that is what he wanted to be called. He went on one of those courses where you had to write your name on a piece of card and stick it on the front of your desk. He wrote Paddy. The guy in charge lectured him about how he was suffering from racism and he didn't know it. He tried insisting my mate change it to Patrick. My mate told him, rather abruptly that his name was Paddy and if the bloke didn't like it he didn't have to speak to him. The bloke ignored him all the course rather than say his name.

It’s definitely the snowflake brigade that even contemplate racist connotations. Bernie is good mates with Mendy, both are great characters and the crux is would Bernie cause any harm to anyone? I doubt it, he’s a lovely fella who’s never been linked to any scandal, ffs, it’s a storm in a huge tea cup.
