Agreed that David Silva is our best player of all time. But he had one of his best seasons ever this year and is still very much at his prime. Given his playing style, there's absolutely no reason to replace him as he might have 3+ years at the very top. Iniesta is 33 for example and is still one of the most impactful players in the world.
Bernardo Silva is very, very good but plays the role that is lowest on our need list. De Bruyne and Sane are both creatively gifted and buying another player like Bernardo Silva or Isco will inevitably stunt their development.
I'm not talking about replacing him now, but in 2, 3 years time or whenever that time may be. The lad is a genius but what I'm trying to say is we can't let it get to the point where we need a last minute replacement. If someone so young and similar in style is available now then to me it makes sense for so many reasons. As much as Sane and KDB are excellent creative players there's a huge difference in style between how Silva and anyone else in our team can play. B. Silva looks similar in style to that way, just a matter of opinion but if he's always as good as he is the few times I've seen him then I'd go for it. Him and Merlin would have plenty of games to rotate and he can learn his trade from the best while we're lucky enough to have him.
