How much a player is worth debates should be banned.
Utterly pointless and emotive.

The figure being bandied about is €80m, which is £67.5m.
Good? I saw them on Masterchef last week. :-DI'm just a cook, not an accountant.
Barca seem to be good at cooking the books, admittedly?
Well they're trying to save it, but surely all this mortgaging the future can only be done once. Plus none of these measures seem to be reducing their £1bn debt, so i have no idea how they are getting away with this in UEFA's eyes??Of course I am biased, but struggling to see the appeal of a club that is almost on its arse. I suppose these players have to get it out of their systems for others to see its like rats jumping onboard the sinking ship. Sooner it goes tits up, the better.
You’ve just defined a forum though. How much a player is worth debates should be banned.

A small and pointless part of one, yes. You’ve just defined a forum though.
I will gutted if he leaves and still hope we can somehow retain his services for one more season. Not many playersDisagree with your assessment of Bernardo. Every player is replaceable but he really is special. There are those who see it and those who don't so I don't think there's much point of getting into the ins and outs of it.
Losing a player who wants to leave is just a part of football and I already thought he'd be off this summer but now the season has started and I'm not fully convinced we can get an adequate replacement in time.
As long as Barça can afford their debt repayments, they're absolutely fine with UEFA & FFP. After all, Barça were one of the architects & signatories of FFP, so presumably they're in the lifeboat.Well they're trying to save it, but surely all this mortgaging the future can only be done once. Plus none of these measures seem to be reducing their £1bn debt, so i have no idea how they are getting away with this in UEFA's eyes??
I guess they really are pining for the Super League hoping it comes along to save their arse!
If we hear one more comment from the fat, racist Tebas though, we ought to throw the kitchen sink at him!
It’s lovely in here compared to the matchday thread.A small and pointless part of one, yes.
Holding him for ransom??? He’s under contract, and we have every right to demand top dollar for one of best players. To do otherwise is stupid.Cheers, interesting either way. As sad as I’d be to see him go, I don’t want us holding him to ransom either. I just hope we bring in a decent replacement who does better than we expect and a good LB, we are done then and can plough on.
If he went anywhere this summer I'd prefer he went to PSG. Aside from the obvious financial situation at Barca, PSG getting Bernie would, I suspect, rule them out of buying FDJ, therefore stiffing over Barca on two counts (missing out on Bernie and no one to buy FDJ). I'd leave Barca to fester in their own financial mess.Surely PSG couldn't afford Bernie's fee plus wages wiithout sacrificing someone?
This saga doesn't seem to be going away, so i'm hoping if he does leave this summer, we bring in someone like Neymar or Felix as a replacement.
No but we would have has one more full backAs a slight aside, I don't get this buy the replacement before you sell. Is it much different to sell the player then buy the replacement?
Take Zin for example. Arsenal reportedly paid £30m plus £2m in add ons. Brighton then insisted on £50m plus for the permed one. Had we bought the permed one first would we have got that amount for Zin? Surely Arsenal would low ball us as, if he wanted to leave, we need him off the books.
It’s a year away. We could all be dead.I can’t be the only one not excited about the prospect of Bellingham coming here ??
Has that been mooted as something that is imminent?I can’t be the only one not excited about the prospect of Bellingham coming here ??
They went nuts with wages and contracts during the previous era. Even last year, they saddled themselves with short term signings Koeman wanted. I can only imagine they were sort of stuck with most of the deals being set in place by the time Laporta took over and was able to exert control. Either that or he really didn't have any other ideas.Well they're trying to save it, but surely all this mortgaging the future can only be done once. Plus none of these measures seem to be reducing their £1bn debt, so i have no idea how they are getting away with this in UEFA's eyes??

Bellingham was supposed to be all out for him next summer unless Liverpool went for him this summer in which case we’d forsake all others and try to get him now. That’s from TH if I remember correctly.Has that been mooted as something that is imminent?
