I would welcome the naming of a stand after Bert . With the current trend of sponsorship , i can see future naming of stands going the same way.
Listening to a discussion on the subject the other day , all involved came to the conclusion that we should have a statue of the great man .
A fantastic idea came up which was to have a statue of Bert at the ground end of the bridge being built to the new training facilities .
The Bert Trautmann Bridge . Sounds good to me .

I would have thought the club would be receptive to naming a stand after Bert. They take our history and the fans wishes pretty seriously.
If they don't name a stand after Bert, one can only assume that maybe they are thinking of selling the names of each stand to separate sponsors to help with FFP.

Not sure about this but I have a feeling I saw something saying that his funeral was held the day after he died.

I think goalkeepers should have ends named after them. Bert Trautmann End for me (South stand? North stand?).

If thats true its very strange, surely his family realised that as a man of Berts standing would have people who wanted to go to pay their respects, its probably true as its never been mentioned anywhere
