Best and worst away day you’ve been on

Worst overall just has to be Halifax 1980, it's rare that I've been so angry at a performance. A close second would be the gutless 3-0 midweek defeat at Spurs just before Hughes was sacked.

Best away trip, probably Munich when we beat Bayern 3-2, I made a short holiday of it - great result and plenty of good craic with fellow Blues away from the footie.

Best: 3-1 at the swamp in March 1968, the night when we knew we could win the league for the first time for over 30 years. Closely followed by 1-0 at the swamp in 1974 (for obvious reasons).
Worst: So many to choose from, but Shrewsbury in the FA Cup was pretty dire.

Worst:Oldham away 0-0, if i recall. Got soaked through standing in the away end. Had to travel all the back to London on my tod with wet clothes. To top it off I think I was visually assaulted in the bogs at Euston by a young pervert.
Best: Loads of em; two spring to mind: Cup final vs Stoke to end the trophy drought and Villa Park FA Cup semi vs Ipswich.

Worst: villa 1 city 0 Darren Bent debut goal. Couldn’t gettin any pub, being abused by stinkin brown toothed brum rats outside the ground throwing cans and hurling abuse, all with the cops looking on giggling. Shit day!

best: spuds 3 city 4. Went from wank to wonderful in 45 glorious minutes and made the home to manc amazing!

One things for sure, no one can ever take away those memories of being there that night. Amazing scenes in that away corner.

Best, Notts County in the promotion season but Blackburn and Stoke when we were mob handed was awesome.
Worst, Everton, got shoed in near Gladwys Street and had broken ribs and was black and blue everywhere else.
Birmingham City night game and Sheffield United run it close. Fucking horrible cunts, brummies and yorkies.

worst blackburn away 0-5 day of bradford fire, gave sub curbishley a right volley of abuse when he came on, he gave me the v-sign.. Best play-off final 1999 went with parkside crew pissed as a fart half time stone cold sober AET + Penalties won the footy card and it was my birthday..it didnt get much better than that!! (until 2012.)

Ignoring Wembley, Blackburn away 84ish Baker scored in a one nil win proper lads trip but, a mention to my lads first away game the 6-2 at Wednesday & Villa 1 City 5 Mrs Moons last away game both of these would be higher but I was driving so dry.

The worst were 2 of the 6 games at Derby I've been to, the 77 one where the league had gone & Joe was booked for marking out the penalty spot & the 6-0 defeat there where for the first time ever I left an away game early.

Having read through the thread I'm now having the shakes at some of the shit I've (we've) been to.

Enjoyed all my away days with the exception of the defeat to Wolves at Wembley in the league cup final, even that wasn't too bad as we had a fantastic time afterwards in a pub at Harrow on the Hill along with loads of wonderful Wolves fans.

But by far and away my best away day was at Newcastle on the 11th May 1968 the first time I had seen my team win the top division in England. Those of you who were there will know what I mean!

Notts County away as a kid when we hit the woodwork 234 times and lost 1-0 in the cup is always one that sticks in the mind, especially as i was in the shitty little home end behind the goal and everyone knew we were city fans. Was a horrible long jouney home.

Best away day was Blackburn away when we went up and won 4-1. Partly as thats where im from and loads of family are rovers fans, but also just one of the best days ever to be a city fan for me.

Half the recollections on these threads are bollocks, but this one win a prize for being he most incorrect, the 9 goal swing, 4 years out, we played at home, wrong team.

Worse league cup final 1974, lost undeservedly, attacked by cockneys on the tube but Wolves were sound.
I was at the back of the Wolves end at wembley that day, along with around a hundred other City fans ... we'd gone on two coaches from Manchester Fairfield Street, and had gotten a good deal on buying a 'job lot' of tickets for Wembley , which we didn't realise, at the time of buying, were actually in the wrong end !

But , as you say, the Wolves fans were pretty sound all day , and didn't cause us any trouble .... even when we managed to score!
