looks like im not the only oneoops, didn't read the thread title properly
Tickets were a fiver and a quid for kids and because it was a cup game were all released at the same time and sold within a day or so. It meant that loads of vocal blues, including working class Maine Road blues who’d not taken to the COMS and it’s atmosphere and prices, were spread all around the stadium. It was a massive game at the time and we were behind already. We went even further behind very quickly but got one back which meant “game on”. From that moment we were pressing and that ignited the crowd. basically it was the perfect storm. Whenever atmosphere is discussed I try to make rhe point that the way that fans are distributed in the Etihad now, with two groups of singers all at the front, is the polar opposite of that.Hamburg Like others n here for me at the etihad but I can’t really remember what was so special about the night for the atmosphere to be like that - was it just because the tickets were cheap?
