Best City team performance ever

everyone has mentioned every great city performance i think and for me its the newcastle away game last year which was a potentional banana skin, but the lads put in a performance that made me wipe away a few tears.

i also enjoyed the keegan season in the championship. some of the attacking performances from berkovic, benarbia, and huckerby that season were breathtaking at times, and i remember thinking at the time that i may never witness such attacking greatness by city again in my lifetime (yes it was only the championship but it was still fantastic to watch)

6-0 v birmingham in the cup

ipswich away 4-1 i think it was. berkovic

Some of my favourite ones have to be under keegan when we've gone down to 10 men but still gone out and give teams a football lesson millwall at home and newcastle away In the fa cup. Last couple of games from last season gave to be up there as it really mattered

I though of performances where we dominated the game from the very off........

Look no further than 4th April 2010 and Burnley away.

Game over after 15 mins of total dominnance.

great team perfomance that day.
this was mint for me but the geordies last year wins it for me i was shitting breeze blocks all week in the build up they wer scoring for fun and we pegged them back, and kept a clean sheet the look on the rags faces that day was absolutley priceless won the league that day imo .

for a season ticket holding spurs fan, to walk up after being humiliated 5-1
and admit he had just watched the champions of the league on the opening game of the season does it for me.

Apart from the ones already mentioned I recall away performances at Villa (Lomas scored) and Blackburn (Easter Monday perhaps, in rain?). Both, as I recall, were dominant performances at a time when relegation beckoned. They may even have been same season but my memory is hazy!

81 Cup run think it was the 4th Round v John Bonds old club Norwich, we literally ripped them a new one that day running out 6-0 winners! The Everton QF replay was a special performance too, aided and abetted by the best atmosphere i have ever witnessed at a City game anywhere! Maine Road was absolutely rocking that night. An honourable mention for the 10-1 as well after a rocky start in that game evrything clicked and seemed to find the target!

Manchester City vs Newcastle United
Division One (Old)
Sat 18 January 1975.
Score: W 5-1

Tore them to shreds if memory serves.

This one is a particular favourite:
Manchester United vs Manchester City
Division One (Old)
Sat 12 December 1970.
Score: W 4-1

Hat trick for F Lee.

The 5-1 in '89 as we were deemed to be shite.

Honerable mention for the UEFA game(s) V AC Milan in 78ish.
Not just deemed; we WERE shite, just not on that glorious day!

Honourable mention for a 5-0 battering of Spurs around 1977-ish. I remember Peter Barnes dummying Pat Jennings (no mug between the posts) and left him on his arse as he dinked in the (I think) 5th goal. Think Spurs went down that season as well. Shame!
