Best Ever Headed City Goal

If you're on about the confrontation on the touchline, wasn't that the LC sf, when Tevez scored and cupped his ears at Ferguson? Or am I finally losing it?
I think he means metaphorically. Although for me, that was Yaya's goal at Wembley.

It was definitely the 1-0 on 30th April 2012.

Hughesless was still in charge for the LC semifinal.

Sorry Blue but you‘re incorrect there! The first goal against Huddersfield that day was indeed a diving header at the Scoreboard End in the first half.. but it was Mike ‘Tommy’ Doyle who scored it!

Our captain Johnny Crossan got the second that day, at the Platt Lane End from the penalty spot (where I was sitting with The Old Man, unusually for us as we mostly stood on the Scoreboard). There was a delay in taking it due to the trainer being on the field a while tending the player who had been fouled. Crossan made a big play of washing his boot clean in the trainer’s bucket prior to taking the penalty to fool the keeper, then took it with the other ‘unclean’ foot!

Some great goals from down the years remembered on here, been lovely to recall them.. but it was some header by Mike Doyle that day, still vivid in my memory.. and reminds me of a similar goal by Matt Gray against Forest a couple of years earlier (a Good Friday game, I recall which we won 1-0.. Gray was really good in the air, joining us like Alex Harley from Third Lanark.. they couldn’t stop us from going down that season, though!)

Eeeee, ‘appy days!
Yes he was a superb header of the ball. I was right behind the goals at Gay Meadow for the Shrewsbury replay when he got us back in the game with a cracker not enough unfortunately. Alf Wood also scored with decent headers.

That one escapes he. I would certainly have been at that match as I only missed the away matches at Cardiff and Norwich that season. Bobby Kennedy was something of an enigma as he was signed as a wing-half but played most of his later matches for City at full-back.

City paid £45,000 for him to sign from Kilmarnock. That was a lot of money at the time but I think that they eventually got good value from time over eight seasons.
At the Platt Lane end, cross from the left, possibly aimed at the right wing, reached Bobby in the centre of the goal at 100mph at head height. He just stuck his head out and it flew in.
Bobby was a decent player, a little portly, but stuck at it.
