They did allow a Salad Cream scene in the Titfield Thunderbolt in 1953 as that was a proper film about trains and shit.

That's true.
Although I believe the scene where Stanley Holloway masturbates furiously into the Caesar in a crowded dining car when they run out of salad cream and have to improvise was cut from the big screen release,in order to secure a 'U' certificate,although it's still available as a director's cut edition.

Also in the directors cut, if you look closely, is the scene where Gabrielle Brune wipes a bit of Holloway's manfat from her chin as he was famous for uncontrolable masturbation and was likened to a garden water sprinkler.
