Fair comment. Law was a good player, but he’s a rag and it’s clear in all his interviews. I just liked the fact that it was a rag who put the rags down, and being their in person has always been a special memory. Pitch invasions, match stopped and players going off, cops and horses on the pitch, Mike Doyle staring them all down was legendary. What a captain he was.

That’s where a lot of the stuff with player power and running down contracts came from. I remember Geoff Thomas saying van Hooydonk behaved like a right prick when he came back into the team too. No wonder they didn’t want to celebrate with him.
