Best individual performance

Nige de Jong when we beat Chelsea at home 1-0 (Sat 5.30pm KO).He was magnificent that night and never put a foot wrong, continually breaking up Chelsea attacks and literally putting his legs and body into everything.Someone did a montage of that display on here and would love to see it again.

Barrys performance that day was also top drawer, snapping into tackles like a demon, allowing title favs chelsea no room to play whatsoever.

Barry,s performance at wba away ,on the title run in (2012) was also brilliant. watching him play that day(same day utd messed up against everton at home) i knew how badly he wanted that title.he seemed to snuff out every albion attack, covered every blade of grass and did all the unselfish running and covering for others which helped us become champions.

I reckon Silva against Hull he won us the league that day!

Best against us Berbatov for Spurs when they beat us 1-0 at home - immense that day.

Didn't we play at Wolves the day United let slip leads of 3-1 and 4-2 to draw with Everton? They were the early game, and, as a result, we went into ours at Molineux knowing that a victory would put matters back in our own hands only a fortnight after we'd been 8 points behind. We duly won 2-0, albeit with a team performance that wasn't especially convincing, to put us three points off the top but knowing that we could overtake our dear friends and neighbours by beating them in the next game (which we also did). The result confirmed Wolves's relegation, too. I vaguely recall that they had some gripe with our second goal but can't remember what it was without looking it up, which I don't have time to do.

As for best ever performance, I remember the Peter Barnes display against Chelsea in the 6-2 mentioned above. Their right back that day was Graham Wilkins, brother of Ray, and he got himself sent off in the second half. I'm sure he did it just to take himself out of the firing line. Barnes could be devastating when on song. Anyone remember the last 5 minutes against Standard Liege in the UEFA Cup, when he made 3 goals to turn a nervy 1-0 lead into a comfortable 4-0?

It was Wolves away.
We heard the united result in the pub we had gone in a couple of miles north of Wolverhampton, we were as high as kites by then as we had stopped listening at 4-2, and it was euphoria not chemical

I will always remember Micah Richards performance in the Derby Double. He seemed to be on fire that day (esp in the air) like he had an extra gear. He always had health problems but when it mattered he showed up.

Best collective individual performance: Utd home 1-0 to put us top of the pile in the 2011/12 title race. Folks say Utd played a defensive game - they played their standard counter attacking away game to good sides and defended magnificently - we just never gave them a chance and by shear force of will pulled the title from their grasp. I have never before seen every outfield City player play at or near their best at the same time and I haven't seen it since either.

Best individual - Bernarbia at home to Brum City.

And GazBaz was subperb in that game. He tackled Ivanovic on the halfway line in front of the Colin Bell and I swear the stand shook!

Kazi Deyna in the 3 - 0 win against Bristol City in 1980. He got 10 out of 10 rating in one of the Sunday papers (probably the mirror thinking what dad read back then) and it was the finest performance I have ever seen in a city shirt. To me he didnt play enough for us, but he was the best player ever to grace the shirt, but I was a star struck 12 year old.
