Trevor Francis on his debut at Stoke. One of the best players I have ever seen and briefly took a very average City team to top of the table around Christmas.

Arthur Mann for me against West Ham at Maine Road. One of the best displays of wing play I ever saw. Not bad seen as he was a full back. Also Joe Corrigan against QPR, one of the best 0-0 draws you could wish to see. Phil Parkes was equally impressive in the Rangers net. Both were incredible that day.

When this comes up its always Wanchope at Leeds that is the first one I think of. The only other time I've seen a team play 1 up front who lead the line like he did that day was Berbatov for Spurs a few years ago when they beat us at the Etihad

Great shouts. I couldn't do Leeds due to work but my mate came back purring about his performance - 2-1 to us, Weikens with the other goal IIRC? He was in hospitality and stood next to Sir Joe when they were having a piss!!!! (my mate that is not Wanchope!!) Hate to agree with the nod to Berbatov but if that was the League Cup q/f where they had Ekotto? sent off he was exceptional......still he was Spurs then, not a myth-maker...
