I rang talksport today as Mark Saggars said that if we lose next weekend rags being 6 points clear means league virtually done and dusted - I asked had he forgotten they were 8 points clear with only a few games to go last season - they didn't take me call or ring me back
Never ever tell them that you're phoning up to make a valid point that will make them look fools. Lie like a twat to get on air then hijack them.

Spot on.

The derby at the swap will be a much bigger game anyway, people making more of this game than it really is. Granted it's a derby but nothing is to be decided. The next derby will be a key game I am sure and hopefully we get six points over the two games.

The best teams are becoming average in CL.

City- raped in CL two points against other Champions in 5 matches. Last year we beat a Bayern B, and a relegated Villarreal side.

Arsenal not factor in CL and goind down at the moment Swansea maybe finish close to them in the end.

United will be raped as soon as they meet a serious team. Last year CL fiasco against Basel, Benfica says it all.

Chelsea won CL last year, wont even make second stage after spending around 80-100 pounds on players.
Not even sure they will make the CL places next year.

But England still has the highest Uefa coefficient which means by objective standards our teams do the best in Europe.

The teams you lost to last season, a weak Chelsea side beat last season. Man City just aren't good in Europe for some reason, even when you played in the Europa league in the last 2 seasons. Arsenal beat Dortmund last season.

I think we've just dipped below Spain now in the coefficients, but we are ahead of Germany and well ahead of Italy, France and Portugal. Halfway down this page:

<a class="postlink" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UEFA_coefficient" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UEFA_coefficient</a>

It seems to be de rigueur among some fans in this country to run down our domestic league in the face of logic. The UEFA coefficients and the fact that eight English clubs have appeared in the last eight Champions League Finals would suggest that reports of the demise of the Premier League are greatly exaggerated.

It's about the same standard as the Spanish League and better than the rest. Perhaps when a club from France (9 seasons since they last did) or Holland (19 seasons since they last did) next gets in a CL final I will have cause to reassess that view.

It's the most interesting to watch.
You could definitely argue that with the top teams (us, the shower, Chelsea, arsenal, spurs and maybe Liverpool), but I personally wouldn't get out of bed to watch Southampton v Aston Villa'
, or Stoke v Wigan, or West Ham v ..................' well you get the point. Some real uninteresting dross in the league, we're just very lucky the sheikh came along and invested in us otherwise we'd be lumped in alongside them.

All that negative long football we play is really boring to watch isn't it

West Ham v Chelsea maybe ?

Germany is coming closer. Germany had less points in 08/09 and 10/11, but had more in 09/10 and as much in 11/12. In this year Germany has more points. Right now it is 76.800 to 73.400. When 08/09 will fall away next year (Germany had 2.300 points less then) it could get very close especially as the current year is not over. It does not really matter as all of three first countries have 4 seats in the CL and 3 in EL.

I think the mid table teams in the Premier League are better then the mid table teams in other leagues such as the La Liga

England probably had a high coefficient in 07/08 because of Chelsea-United CL final, which is factored in this year but wont be next year. Maybe Germany will overtake England this year, but it looks like Italy is so far behind that the 4 CL places are pretty secure.

The midtable teams seem to be pretty good this season. I would say Everton, West Brom, Swansea, and Liverpool are all improved from last season, and of course teams like Newcastle, Stoke, Fulham and Sunderland aren't really easy games.
