Best left back we’ve had over the last decade?

Clichy but we've never had one like Walker who is out and out the best full back we've had since we were taken over.

I’d take prime Zabba over Walker but take your point we’ve struggled terribly for a decent left back and 2 great right backs

Kolarov was more like a left wing back. He never worked as well in a flat back 4 in my opinion - but, similar to Mendy, his crossing was brilliant and he couldn't half kick a ball.

Clichy was the most athletic and well rounded defender. Comfortable in possession too. Would be perfect in a Pep team.

Mendy just isn't good enough IMO. He's injury prone, he can't defend, he makes rash decisions. He's got a brilliant cross and can be useful when the other team parks the bus.

Zinchenko isn't even a left back. He's done really well covering that position, but he's clearly not a long term solution.

In that brief period before Mendy picked up his first knee injury he gave us something going forward that I have never seen from a City left-back. I thought we had finally solved a position that had been a problem for a long time. Unfortunately injuries have completely derailed his career and we are yet to see him return to the player he was at Monaco. So for me it would have to be Kolarov.

Mendy provided the best Left Back performance I've ever seen against City, but has since gone backwards, mainly due to injury.

To be fair to Kolarov, he also suffered an early injury on his debut at White Hart Lane on the opening day of 10-11.

Gareth Barry was the best Left Back we've had this decade. The fact why no manager chose to play him there is the real question.

Not a great group to choose from but probably Clichy for me. Zinchenko has the best technical ability, Mendy's poor with the ball and while he has an amazing shot on him I cant quite get the image of Kolarov strolling back in the penalty out of my head.

Clichy though Kolarov did better than OK and Miller and Delph did OK when they filled in.

Kolarov overall, Clichy had a very good season in 11/12 but after that Kolarov was the better all-round player.

Also, shoving Balotelli off that Sunderland free kick before banging it in himself in 11/12 - legend.

Never happened, Kolarov's goal in that match was from open play.
