Clash, Bingley Hall, Birmingham, circa 82, Slade, loads of times in the 70’s,Springsteen, Bramhall Lane, 88, Rainbow, Manchester, around 78, Sensational Alex Harvey Band, Manchester, late 70’s, the latter was absolutely bonkers but brilliant.

As this guy has only played 3 UK gigs John Mellencamp in Manchester was a bit special as it was pretty much a greatest hits gig. Not that I was complaining.

Doves were fucking ace live. On an E and they ended with SpaceFace from their former years. Manic.

The venue and the energy from the crowd are such a big factor to how "good" a band are live. I've seen a few really good bands at big venues (arenas) and its crap even though I really like the music. There is no energy, the sound is shit and its completely disconnected.
