Go to Llandudno
One sandy beach, one stony beach, one pier, lots of shops. Train station five/ten minutes walk from all of them

Trains are currently only letting a vastly reduced number of passengers on, the only way to guarantee getting on is to book in advance then you have to travel on the specified train.

Crosby beach is nice too. Less traffic than Formby, and you can see the Anthony Gormley statues. Not sure how easy it is to get there on public transport though?
