best opposition anthem

I've been with Burnley away a couple of times and the full version of The Wild Rover they do is quite entertaining.

The strangest is Alty fans doing an a cappella version of the A Team theme.

Alty had a great one for Colin Little I think it was a few years back, to a Franz Ferdinand track:

"Find me and follow me, from Altrincham to Timperley. We've got Colin Little and he's off his fuckin tree!"

Better and more original than any Premier League teams chants!

-- Wed Sep 15, 2010 11:11 am --

Blue Moon leaves me cold, hate it and always have.

I feel it sucks the life out of the stadium due to its morose tone.

I wouldn't even mind but it's not even an anthem, it's a chorus that few know the rest of the words to.

There's this perception we have always sung it, but it's not too late to consign it to the dustbin.

The thing is about us is that we sound dead thick and just shout the words! Instead of singing the words with a bit of soul it just sounds droany and like we've all been let out for the day!

I Love Blue Moon, when is sing properly by a large part of the crowd really gets me going

That is a good one. I went away with them last year watching them against AFC Wimbledon- as soon as the Womble came out banging a bin, there was a chorus of "Can you sing without your bin?" followed by " Remember you're a w****r!"

The "fields of Anfield Road" is nicked from Celtic supporters singing "The Fields of Athenry", which is originally a traditional Irish song about a poor Catholic lass whose bloke got transported to Australia for stealing corn from a Protestant landlord during the Famine in the 1840s.
Best songs imo are "Bubbles" and Raith Rovers fans' song "I Can't Help Falling in Love with You."

This is a song that i always respect when the Jambos sing it, not least for the history behind it

Though the Scouse Tommy is another fine song that aint heard often enough

And the history and background of Leeds Marching alltogether deserves a mention

Though Bluemoon and Mine eyes have seen the glory of espanya 82 will always be the best in my unbiased opinion :-)

Blue Moon would be miles better if we sang the whole song :/
I agree.

To pull it off though, we'd need to hand songsheets out which would put us firmly in Rag territory - we'll just have to surfice with the chorus.
