Best player from our doldrums years (1980 to roughly 2009)

Paul Lake and Andy Morrison, Paul was a Rolls Royce of a player and destined for the top and Andy gave us what we (and himself) needed at that moment in time

Clive ‘Silky’ Wilson was the first player that sprung to my mind. Sadly, the generally awful standard of the City teams he played in meant that his quality was often overlooked.
Clive played a lot of top flight football for Chelsea, QPR, and Spurs. He became a superb, very skilled, left back who would have got in our present day team in my view (in that left back position). I think he was unlucky not to achieve more with his career. I met him once in Withington. You couldn't have met a nicer bloke.

Paul Walsh, Peter Beagre when fit (seem to remember he had long spell out ) and Paul Stewart. We all loved Georgi but sadly the team was too far gone by then. Honorable mentions to Uwe too for being the hero we were looking for.

In my formative years I remember Curle being top class and the type of player who could have played for a better team than us.

I'm not sure though cause on my birthday this year I had a dream about meeting him & he said Wolves were the favourite club he played for

David White. Used to pass the ball across the goalkeeper into the opposite bottom corner. Loved him. Kinkladze was an amazing player on his day. Paul Walsh was a great player too. Dickov and the goat were players who gave everything they had and the some more. Paul Lake was so good it was heartbreaking what cruelly happened. David Phillips and Paul Simpson were the reason we got promoted in 85. We’ve had some good players even when we were down amongst the dead men.
