best tv for iptv

@shevtheblue uses an LG i believe through the smart iptv app so maybe he can give you some pointers, personally I'd save a lump sum of money and buy a decent box
recommend this SMART TV App http://siptv.eu/howto/ €5.49 to activate your TV, I have it working on both Samsung and LG TVs. I do agree with other comments, get a decent box.
without spending silly money has anyone got any thoughts on which is the best smart tv to buy to use with an iptv subscription
I have an LG OLEDC6CV, so pretty mid-range when it comes to OLED's but more powerful than a standard tv, and i have the Smart IPTV and Smart STB app (both have to be paid for but fairly cheap) and it runs ok. I'm on my second month using IPTV and it runs o...k, i think the apps have an issue with processing the bitrate and you don't seem to have options to update buffer sizes and the like. Also, there has been a recent court order to ISP's to shut down streams when it comes to prem kick off times, so you really needa VPN and you can't do that at tv level.
As others have suggested, i'd only use the smart TV as a back up and get a decent box if you can. If you have a normal router and can add vpn to it then i'd get a MAG box, 254 or 256, but if you don't have a normal router (Virgin, Sky and BT hubs dont seem to allow vpn) then you're best off getting an android box and putting VPN software on there. Box has to be 2gb ram and over though.

i only asked about a tv because a mate has a smart tv with iptv and not missed a game since he got it about 18 month ago, ive been round to his to watch some games and its absolutely perfect every time and very easy to use
Same with mine, only time it buffers Is cos of my shit virgin broadband

I have IPTV on an LG smart TV have no issues but must stress it's hard wired to the router with cat 5 cable.....if using wifi it can be an issue with buffering etc

it's also easy to set up you just purchase the smart IPTV subscription which is around €5 and then purchase an IPTV sub which cost around £50-£100 for the year depending on supplier then just load the m3u file via the app sent by supplier and away you go

As others have stated a Mag box or Zgemma now do an IPTV box the I55 I think it's called both options would be cheaper than purchasing a new TV but I don't know how much work is involved installing the channel list...m3u file etc

Is the correct answer
Virgin network is currently seriously fucked. Me and @quiet_riot have had it right up the shitter of them all week, not even any lube either!
Glad we left them for BT at the end of last season, they were all over the shop

I have no issues with swapping providers, but I simply won't pay for a landline that I don't use - so I'm kinds stuck until hyperoptic get back to me

Virgin still bloody charge me for one that i have never used. Apparently it is cheaper with it. If you get hyperoptic would you maybe consider a lodger xD
I hope you do get it mate, i'd even chip in to your line for full giga just to see how it goes.

Don't hold much hope tbh - I don't really understand where it will go back to...it must join *a* network somewhere?!
