big mistake

Really was an idiotic thing to do. I've watched a fair few of the Spuds games this season and he looks a different player. He was a lazy twat for us but for Spurs he is chasing down balls, saw him sprint back in the 88th minute to tackle the opposition, scored goals and is helping set them up as well. It's obvious he wants to play for them and he is still a great player.

Spurs were struggling for a goal scorer with Defoe turning shit and having sold crouch and cant rely on that donkey Pavlyuchenko. So what do we do? We give them a proven goal scorer and target man who can help bring Bale into the game more and pay most of his wages for them. It was only ever gonna come back and bite us on the arse.

Do you think we will finish above spuds?

As I saw on here the other day, if Spurs finish ahead of us it was a bad move, if they don't it isn't.

They won't finish ahead of us so people should stop flapping and hope he scores the winner against the rags, a realistic title contender.

Hard to say. We have a lot of competitions to concentrate on and while we do have a big squad certain players will get tired. We also seem to be wobbling a bit and have a really tough January. We've already got enough pressure from the rags breathing down our necks don't need to add to it with Spurs catching us at a lightning pace as well.

It could end up a top decision IF we finish above spurs! I bet all the other clubs who are pushing for top 4 are pissed of we've loaned him to spurs..........

it's not just the fact that he's playing for them...it's that City is paying most of his wages while he's getting them into the CL and making them a serious contender for the Prem.

Bad decision. Don't ever send a quality player off to a team that is your direct rival for trophies. ESPECIALLY if you're still going to be paying most of his wages.

The fact is we are not paying MOST of his wages! It works out at 10% spurs payed a loan FEE then are paying him 80k a week...So for the season loan it's about 10% we pay.........:-)

Yes, the loan fee ensures Spurs don't have to break their wage structure but when you add that to what they are paying him, we are contributing very little to Adebayor's wage.

And don't forget we were backed into a corner by the man himself. Refused PSG saying he only wanted to join a club that could win trophies (PSG are now top of Ligue 1) and also refused a move to Zenit, although maybe more understandably as Russia is not everyone's cup of tea.

Next season when Spurs don't keep him on (but being in the Champions League they will be able to attract a good replacement on more reasonable wages like Llorente) he may have no choice but to accept a permanent transfer to whoever bids. However, with his good form this season we might get a bigger range of bidders and even a better transfer fee than we would have got in summer.
