There have been Dutch coaches and pundits calling for him to stop being so agressive in the tackle for quite some time. They'll have heard that Ben Arfa has broke his leg and assumed Nigel is at fault. If they'd actually looked at it, they'd have realised was a great tackle. Nige should fuck em off. One thing though, i really hope this doesn't affect Nige mentally. I don't want him to change his game.

After this 2 weeks he will get back in the Dutch squad. There is too much talking now so not selecting him wil also take some pressure of the Dutch team. Refs will look at every challenge now de Jong makes and a red card can cost you a game.

Give him some rest is ok

I'm hoping De Jong turns around and tells your Dutch coach to go and take a flying fuck to himself. Holland, needs Nige more than Nige needs Holland.

De Jong is class, and it was unfortunate that he broke Ben Arfa's leg. But its a contact sport and these things happen. There was no malice or intent in his tackle other than to win the ball!

I think that its a disgrace whats happened now and its nothing short of a witch hunt.

Don't you think publicly dropping him from the squad is a massive step too far? He could easily have taken him to the international fixtures and benched him. By simply dropping him it shows such a huge lack of faith in Nigel, and the wider implication, that the challenge yesterday was anything but a fair committed challenge, is bound to alienate the player massively and feed the media feeding frenzy.

Stupid stupid stupid decision in my eyes - I'm really disgusted by it and I hope that Nigel leaves the Dutch set up in protest...

For those defending De Jong, he broke Stuart Holden's leg in March, put six studs into Alonso's chest in July and now Ben Arfa. about 2 hours ago via web

I applaud the decision of the Dutch FA. It was a reckless and over-agressive challenge which endangered the safety of another player.
And it's not the first leg De Jong has broken... I'm pleased the Dutch took this decision because it's bad rep for them. That WC-final destroyed decades of history of great football they had build up.

Oh, and according to a number of polls in the Dutch media, 70% of the supporters are behind the decision taken by Van Marwijk.

This is more disappointing for Nige than anything you expect your manager to back you up,he didnt even give a free away and I dont think it will change the way he plays at least I hope not!!!!!!!!!.
Nige is an enforcer and he does it well.
