Imagine if there weren’t these big money benefits and people had to get a job within a certain period or got struck off the rolls?

“Free money” will always attract corruption and theft! The UK is not unique in this area.

Trouble with this country is that 40% of people on universal credit are actually working. This is mainly so companies and very rich people can get away with paying shit wages and still make massive profits.
As it’s ever been in the UK, it’s socialism for the rich and capitalism for the poor….

This country is just an open chequebook to people overseas yet there is never any money left in the pot for our own folk on the breadline or our ex squaddies.
I hate the UK for everything it offers or doesn't as the case may be. No wonder we are getting immigrants coming in by the bucketful as we are an easy meal ticket.

I have 2 very old friends who are ex army (Falklands and 1st Gulf war).

This scam went on for 4.5 years which, coincidentally, is about the time it's taking them to 'reassess' my mrs claim..

i have been waiting a year now for a decision , they send me a text now and again to say they have my forms still and will move it on in due course , my current one runs out in june so i rang them up and she said they will keep paying it until my claim is processed , she had better be right

There are. If you ever have trouble sleeping I recommend reading the Good Practice Guide (GPG) 45 on the gov.uk domain.

But if people have access to falsely acquired, official documents there's little you can do.

One fraudster had 9 driving licences in different names. A driving licence meets two critical identity criteria of being a government issued document (and therefore subject to its own security checks) and having a photograph of the holder. Similarly a passport. It's regarded as a high bar.

There are very regular checks on us disabled ones unless you are terminal but even then they can say you are fit to work and cut you off . This case they are clever criminals so not a typical case

UC is £75 a week, imagine you have paid more than that a week for say 20 years in income tax. France, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands take slightly more in tax, (less overall when you include all our stealth taxes). However, the support they receive shits all over ours, the one things its reliant on is having worked at some point.
